Biggest challenge will be judging PERSONALITIES, character, and desire of these kids on such short notice.

Talent will be there…team first, solid dudes will be the challenge.

Yep, gotta be hard to evaluate these things when you have so many players to bring in. I think the first year is mainly focused on bringing in enough talent to be competitive. Second year you start to mold your roster better.

The RB coach for Sam Houston while Jayden Jackson was in HS is the speculated RB coach on this new staff.

You are quibbling over semantics. His team negotiated a financial offer from LSU which he then used to get a large raise from ISU. Obviously we took him back even though he shopped around for other options. Clearly the right decision.

It’s already been pointed out by multiple posters that the post stating that Rogers won’t bring anyone back who enters the portal was wrong.

This guy may fit the scheme really well too. I think he was underrated coming out of HS.

I like Jayden Jackson a lot! The offense is going to feature a couple RBs

I love Hansen as a RB, I believe he runs very much the way John Riggins used to run. He will be missed, but it is not like he was irreplaceable. I think this coaching staff is going to get the team they want.

In my opinion, if a WR wants on the field in Coach Roehl's offense, he better be a good blocker. Good blocking WRs are hard to come by- having WR that block usually breaks open bigger gains in the running game.

Hard to argue with never finishing below tied for 1st place in conference play as a HC.

There have been some really good, hard nosed coaches come out of NDST and SDST. Winning is winning and our HC, OC, and DC played for and coached at one of those two powerhouse programs. When was the last time, before this season, NDST or SDST were not playing in the FCS Championship game? It has been a while.

I see Gale Sayers when I watch Hansen run. So smooth.

But he's definitely not irreplaceable. Let's face it... he is slow. He gets the tough yards, but when he does get a big hole, he almost always gets caught from behind.

I know it happens, but it honestly does much less than I would've expected when the portal became a thing that some players would "test the waters" and ultimately come back.

Question is which players, if any, would be the likely ones to enter the portal, but still come back to ISU?

Dad and his brother both went to Iowa though Dad is a DDS and his brother is currently in dental school there.
