***Official portal tracker thread***

Agree, it appears we had players staying for less money out of loyalty before and that was a huge benefit to the program. Hopefully in the future the new staff gets the same benefit. In the meantime, that means the level of player we had on recent teams is not affordable. A sobering realization.
Always a pay bump out there for some good player who has developed or was underappeciated, let me introduce you to #3 Iowa States mbb

Replacing talent on an individual level is one thing. Building a winning football team is about more than just the talent of each individual player. I think it’s harder to build a winning team by replacing 3/4 of the two deep than your post implies. Especially when your NIL pool is relatively small, it makes the winning by hiring a team of mercenaries approach much harder.
Biggest challenge will be judging PERSONALITIES, character, and desire of these kids on such short notice.

Talent will be there…team first, solid dudes will be the challenge.

Why I think you will see certain teams players pop more. Either have a connection to the player already or their coach/s.

I'm sure there was ample "Campbellinisn" in this team. He's a manipulative coach ... they all are ... but hes REALLY good at it. We will know in time if we had top notch players we lost, or just average. But make no mistake, he stripped this program on his way out, and if he gets a statue ... I'll piss on it, repeatedly, and shat on his shoes.
This is so good. Can't stop laughing.

Rogers told them they are not welcome back if they hit the portal
Yeah tried to say this but everyone thought it was dumb, none coming back, they were told to hit the road, those that wil stay got their NIL agreements already are staying, lunch will be rather quiet at the Berg here in a few days

Anyone wonder why we have so many more players bailing than all of the other teams that lost their coach (other than Oklahoma State)?
Obviously, because all of our players are of higher quality and command a bigger paycheck in the portal. Even our backups are desired by the best teams.

I was going to put a jimlad here but . . . . . . .

Sama was the last shoe to drop. Now we can turn the page on Campbell and the 2025 team and look forward to who JF’nR brings in for 2026 along with the loyal sons that stayed.

I’m kinda looking forward to a fresh start with a new regime. On the surfaced it appears they’ve put together a nice staff on both sides of the ball. Young coaches with mostly Midwest ties.

Time will tell, but it’ll be interesting to look back in a couple years at the ‘25 roster and see where everyone ended up. A few will probably go on to do great things, but most will likely be another “Oh man, I forgot all about that guy. He ended up at No Name U and barely saw the field”.

It blows my mind people are actually upset with this. Rodgers was likely the best hire we could have made and he announced it durning the team meeting with Campbell and I thought that was great. Absolutely no time for people to sit and wonder.
There is nothing like the new guy helping the old guy find the door. I loved the move. It informs me that JP was prepared for Matt's "Great Escape" to Pedo St. Excellent work by the AD.
