Pedo state may make the CFB PO, but they won’t win a game imho.

That schedule is absolute cup cake.
If Campbell even goes 8-4 with that schedule PSU fans are going to start questioning things already.

It’s going to be VERY interesting to see how CMC handles the fan and media pressure there. Because anytime he got any sort of pushback from fans or media here he about exploded.

Just totally spitballing here, but if I were going to build a new roster in this situation in the NIL era, I might be tempted to spread my money out as much as possible, meaning I might not have the most to offer to the most coveted returning stars on the team.

There is almost certainly going to be intense competition for those guys, and Iowa State is not going to be in the position to compete for them without totally exhausting the budget. Rather than spending $10,000,000 (or more) keeping 10-15 players, I'd be tempted to identify 30 to 40 talented (but not widely sought after) guys who could be retained for maybe $5,000,000 and then use the balance to fill in around them.

Makes sense.
I think if I was a Princeton supporter, I'd be claiming him, since I don't suppose they have a lot of NFL players to cheer for.
Ivy is weird about eligibility, wasn't he out there but had a year left outside the league? They also give the mbb auto bid to the regular season champ, only league that does, IIRC.

I am going to reserve my ultimate accolades for those who stayed. They are the loyal sons forever true. At this difficult time Rocco and others are leaving and it is hurting the program. Their ultimate loyalty is not to Iowa State. I have loyal Cyclones to cheer for. Forever true.
I don't disagree with your response. I couldn't ever see leaving Iowa State to follow a coach. For me though, all the vitriol towards players and coaches is just not how I see who Cyclones fans are or should be. The Loyal Son, Forever True is a high bar-I love being a part of it. Why can't we match this high bar in our responses-even when players/coaches seem to have broken the standard for being a part of this University.

Have no idea what to think re: CMC-PSU. Don't really care, + no ill will.
Just DAMN glad Heacock chose retirement over the AARP roll of the dice.
If you haven't seen the CF Eisworth interview re: Heacock, check it out.

Agree on social media but here in our safe space, let it all out. If they come here to read it, don't care.

It appears we're mostly keeping Iowans so lets support our players that stay, Iowan or not. No need to support or hate the ones that leave, but here on CF, **** em.

If he goes 8-4 with that schedule, JP should hold a presser to fire Matt Campbell.

“I know he’s no longer here…but that’s absolute dog **** given that schedule. I just want MC to know he’s fired and not rehireable here at Iowa State. Not interested.”

On another note, I guess we can just assume the remaining guys are open to staying and we’re working out NIL money with them?

Sama would seem like a priority, the other QB…some linemen.

I have seen many people say that. I have said I hate it on this thread, and have had many people come at me about it being the best time for ISU. That the NIL has put us on some level playing field. And saying how can anyone not like the NIL since we are way better now since it started.

So if you havent seen it, that is your problem not mine.

I haven't seen it because it doesn't exist. Saying this is the best time in the history of ISU football does not equal "how can anyone not like NIL". If anybody said NIL is good or it's a level playing field, they would have been ridiculed by everyone. Go ahead, link a single post.

I can think of about 8 million reasons why he will pinch his butt cheeks and won't explode at Penn State fans or media his first year in Happy Valley.

Your entitled to your opinion. And I'm entitled to mine. Not sure there is a right or wrong on this.

You’re entitled to your own opinion. Dillon Gabriel is a forever Sooner. Started at UCF 2 years. Then Oklahoma for 3 years where he graduated. Finally he went to Oregon for his last season. Record breaking year finished as a Heisman finalist as a Duck. According to you he is a forever Sooner. Just think if he had won the Heisman. Forever Sooner wins Heisman would be your headline.

Sort of reminds me of the story of the young bull and the old bull staring at a herd of cows

It's so interesting because the distribution of rev share is going to be at the individual level and not at the positional level. Meaning, most players will be receiving a few thousand dollars but a person playing next to them may be earning a million or more. The only metric for evaluation is what other people believe a player is worth--no draft to determine a value, no rookie wage scale, etc.--so the incentive to play for one's self and your individual stats will be huge. I can easily see half of a rev share distribution going to about 8 guys on a team, another 25% to the rest of the starters, and 25% to the other 65 guys.

The good part is that those who are staying are committed to Iowa State. I don’t hate Rocco and others for leaving. But don’t try to feed us the “Forever a Cyclone” BS. You’re literally kicking us in the nuts trying to feed us that crap. Just say you are grateful for the fans support. Stop the Forever a Cyclone ******** as you quit being a Cyclone.
I do give Rocco a small break because he is leaving with degree in hand.
