Since this is only 2nd year post House Settlement, old ideas about loyalty, culture and money are antiquated.

It was just 2 years ago Ohio State's Coach Day was pushing boosters to raise an unheard of $15M to support their NIL Collective. That's pretty much the low-end for P4 programs today.

It's a Brave New World!
As an ISU trained economist, I'm very interested in watching how the rev share market sorts itself out at the various player positions, compared to NFL pay scales.

Will he be a Cyclone this fall when he is playing football? So he is not a Cyclone forever. He is a Cyclone Alum and a former Cyclone. But only those who finish their careers at Iowa State will be Forever Cyclones. Rocco is trying to have it both ways. Go. But don’t expect me to stroke your balls.
So you're saying if a person gets a grad degree at a university other than ISU, they lose their "Cyclone for Life" badge?

What about people who take post grad jobs outside Iowa? Traitors, Iowa needs all the residents it can get.

I would guess we see money flow to same position groups: QB, WR, DL & CB.

But at a school like ISU that isn't loaded with 4/5 star recruits or a bunch of All Big12 players, does Rogers take more a Socialist approach. Pay most players the same and then a few oligarchs (QB, OT, DE, CB's) crazy money.;)

We are talking Cyclone athletes. Quit moving goalposts.

Adam Haluska signed with Iowa State. Played for Cyclones for 2002-2003. Then transferred to Iowa for 2004-2007. Finished his career at Iowa and was drafted into the NBA.

Is Adam Haluska a Forever Cyclone?

Is it ignorant to think that by staying Konrardy is likely to leave more money on the table (by percentage) than anyone?

When healthy he is a major weapon, and I can’t imagine ISU can afford the luxury of paying him what he would be worth to some programs.

I can’t imagine what he could get paid to hit a game winner in the Red River Shootout.
Got to believe he is a first rounder. NFL owners/coaches love 60+ yarders to win games, and he has a few!! Hell, they draft 45 yard kickers.

Better hurry…I don’t see this market as a sustainable one.

Especially since there will already be immense pressure on U’s going forward financially.

The college debt bubble, combined with lower number of students, and jobs that don’t justify the investment will all be trouble enough. Adding on these extra costs only magnifies the issues faced.

Did Haluska get his undergrad from Iowa State? If he did, yes.

Rocco is more than just a football player. He got his ISU degree. I value that more than anything else.

Plus your assuming Rocco will support the school he spends the next year more than Iowa State over the rest of his life. I believe the opposite Rocco will love and value his ISU experience more.

Nope. And at least Hawkluska didn't try to claim he was. He did a full heel turn.
