does anybody know what happened to our rebounding. we have the size and the athletes to do but we just seem to forget how to do it when the shot comes of the rim

Turnovers are really hurting us, especially the way some of them have happened (not being aggressive going to the basket, 20 feet away)...we've got to buckle down against their pressure and find a way to go inside-out if we want to get this close again

Agreed. But he chose to come back. Time to forget what could have been and improve. And his lack of improvement is no one's fault but his own.

Bilas and Fraschilla really impressed me at the coaches clinic this year...I'm pretty sure at least 1 and maybe both of them went to watch ISU practice while they were in the area (Des Moines)...said they like to get a chance to see the teams they are going to cover outside of gametime.

I like Fran too. He's one of the national guys that I follow on twitter. He did spend some time in Ames in the preseason this year. Had nice things to say and loved the practice facility.

random question, but what position did bilas play at duke?, because i thought he was a guard, but he looked real tall standing next to patrick, and he had quite a few rebounds as blue devil

Totally disagree with this wording...he has definitely improved in a lot of areas...he wasn't going to bump his 20/10 conference averages for points rebounds much when he had a better supporting cast...

The biggest issue I've seen the last couple games is trying to push a little too hard at times to make something happen rather than letting it come to him...

So do I, but Craig is a human being who chose to come back to Iowa State. We should want him to succeed in his life after Ames. Am I wrong?

Totally agree. Falling out of the first round would be terrible! I hope he can step it up.

I had to mis FF; but I really enjoyed Bilas that weekend! He is as good as it gets!

The scouts told him he needed to improve defense, rebounding, and outside shooting from my understanding. I dont see any of that one bit. With a better supporting cast, shouldn't he be able to focus on rebounding more?

Pretty sure he was a 4. He's tall.

Correct....IIRC he is around 6'10"

Interesting factoid from his wiki entry...Krzyzewski’s 1982 recruiting class of Bilas, Johnny Dawkins, Mark Alarie and David Henderson still ranks as the highest scoring single class in college basketball history. In his college career, Bilas scored 1,062 points and grabbed 692 rebounds

You haven't seen an improvement in his outside shot? He was over 50% from 3 last I checked...he's not a lock down guy defensively but I've seen improvement there too. As for the rebounding numbers he now has other players to take some rebounds away too (although the entire team is struggling in this area)

anybody else think duke might be one of the best if not the best defensive teams in the country, they are shutting down an all american player in cb, and we we will have a hard time reaching 70 pts

Im actually impressed with how we are playing. Seeing Gilstrap develop is great to see... and not against Chicago State.

I feel bad for Craig. He certainly struggles on the big stage (minus KU last year). I really hope he puts up a few more points tonight so it doesnt look so bad.

Plumlee is freaking crazy athletic.
