I usually like Digger. Every announcer will say something similar to this I'm guessing. It's too bad, though, because this win could mean a lot more to us than that down the line.

As the clock ran out, my wife and I just stared at the TV, in shock, waiting for a whistle, time-out or something that was going to smash our hopes. What an incredible game. It is sure nice to see 98% of the posters with a positive message.
On my way home from a meeting I turned on the radio hoping to catch the end of the post game show....I nearly had a heart attack hearing that we won.

I don't like the poll options. This game wasn't luck, and the rest of the season wasn't bad luck. This team could have been good, and maybe what it would have taken is a win over Texas at Hilton. Who knows what momentum would have done? But you have to make your own momentum, and they weren't able to do that this year. Hopefully they can finish off strong and get some going into next year!

I think what it came down to is a few events this season killed momentum, and that turned what could have been a very good season into a not so good one (until the last game at least. :biggrin: ). Were those events not to have occured, I have a feeling that the season would have been different, but lets not waste time reminiscing about the past. On to next week and the big XII tourney!
They have been close all year long really, every game it was one little thing that was off. Tonight it all came together. Not that bad of a team, just every single night it was a different thing. Lot of injuries too didn't help. There is very little difference between the 11th place team and the 3rd place team. Most years there isn't though.
Great effort, really shocking win when you consider what happend against Missouri, how good K-State is, and where the game was played.
Officiating was embarrassing. ISU beat them by 20 points and because of the officiating only won by 3.

Agreed. This poll that's on here is a false set of choices. ISU winning today was not luck, nor does it mean that ISU is a good team (or has been one all season). They were good *today*, and I, and everyone here are happy about it. But part of greatness is consistency. We've seen inconsistent flashes of greatness all year long, but overall a lot of awful ball, and to borrow a cliche, we are who our record says we are. Finally, today, we put together a complete game (and then some).
Hopefully they can win a game or two in the tourney. I wouldnt be surprised if McD extends his tourney record to 0-4 this year though.
While I was not really happy with the officiating (Garrett should not have been so close to Pullen when he let that 3 pointer go - but he held back and did NOT foul him) - I am so proud of this team's effort tonight! The thing I noticed was during time-outs, and even in some of those unbelievable miscalls by the refs, our guys stayed focused, were supporting one another & I believe this is why we won. Tonight the better TEAM won. The Wildcats have tough physicality and a tough mentality, but I think their athleticism was overshadowed by our team play. It will be interesting to see if we can build upon this win tonight as we head into the tourney. It will be tough to win 1 let alone 4 games with only 7 players. Here's hoping we can be the "miracle" team of the 2009-10 season!
WOW. As all the "Fire GMac" talk reaches a boiling point, two of the biggest arguments against the coach are simultaneously given the middle finger. Irritated I was out at dinner instead of watching. Can't believe I missed it...

That being said I still have some major problems with McD that one great win does not fix. But I'm gonna save all that for another day, this is still too much fun to not enjoy!
Great... tonights win just proves we have talent. The talent finally got the edge (not the coach). It was bound to happen this year. This still doesn't look good for GMAC. This just shows he should have had this team winning more games. I'm very happy to see them win but this shouldn't change the fact that GMAC has been a major failure.
I generally agree with this comment about luck. You don't pay someone seven figures to coach a BB team if it is all about luck.
Certainly, a season is not about luck. One game maybe...but not a season.
You guys need to give the rest of us a night to enjoy a win! And if you think beating a Top 5 team on the road that had a #1 seed on the line the NCAA's with a depleted bench and refs that seemed hell bent on lowering the number even more in overtime, not a good coaching effort that proves he can indeed still coach, then you're a hell of a lot more ignorant than I ever thought before which is saying something.
