Reminded me too much of the Northwestern game last year. ISU was 6-0 then too....and then just looked kind of bad. Hopefully FH will get them to respond better for Cal.

1. We should NEVER lose to a team as un-athletic as that.

2. We were outcoached tonight for sure. I'm not saying Fred isn't a good coach because I think he can coach, but when your team averages 85 pts a game and they avg 63 pts a game, and the score is about at their avg... you've been outcoached.

3. I don't know who had a worse game... JVB, Scotty, or DG? All were pathetic tonight. JVB should have had 20+ pts tonight with ease. Nobody on UNI could compare to his height. At times they had O'Rear guarding him and O'Rear is about 6 inches shorter than JVB. Pathetic. And Scotty and DG couldn't hit anything. Scotty also lost several rebounds and had it stolen from him several times as well. And Fred needs to get control of DG when he's not hitting. It might be "DG's team", but that doesn't mean he can just do whatever he pleases all night.

4. Officiating did slow our game down a LOT. Right from the start, the refs were not going to allow us to play pressure ball defense at all. Ticky tack calls all over the place. We could never get the tempo up. One of the ugliest basketball games I've ever seen. And the non-call on the UNI player taking about 4 steps late in the game... followed by the travelling call on DG, which wasn't even close to travelling... well.... now I know why they've won 18 straight games in that building.

5. I too would absolutely HATE to watch that kind of basketball all year long. So it's a good thing I won't see UNI play again this year. Yikes. I'd rather watch paint dry. Roughly a third of their pts came from the FT line. Now that's EXCITING!!

6. Hopefully we learn something from this game? The Iowa team I saw play last night would destroy the ISU team I saw tonight by 15+ pts. So we had better take something from this game tonight and get better.... quick.

7. ISU is not nearly as good as some on here were starting to think. We still might be better than most people believed we were before the season started, but not nearly as good as some were starting to think. At best we are probably about the 9th best team in the Big 12.

All we need to do is win the Cal game. 7-1 is a great start to the season, if we could go 8-1 into the Iowa game we will be fine. Relax people, this team wasn't going to go undefeated.

does Scotty know its ok to pass the ball on a fast break, he was garbage...

Overall bad game by Scotty. I remember one key possession where he got the rebound and promptly threw it away.

Also thought that Railey should have dunked that put back.

JVB almost air balled a bunny from 2.5 feet in the 1st half.

Diante shot at least 2 or 3 air balls. His 7-23 shooting was very Craig Brackins-like.

Jake didn't seem to get any rebounds.

glad i didn't sip too much kool-aid

seriously, calm down people. it's 1 game. should we have won, maybe, but we didn't. we played poorly throughout from the sound of it, and that is a recipe for a loss. hopefully the guys can learn from the loss and move forward. after all, all i really want is improvement out of this team-nobody thought we would be world beaters or win every game, so losing our first road test shouldn't surprise anyone. the buildup of the 6-0 start was a great thing for the teams mojo, but a terrible thing for cf posters-a lot of people on here drank way too much of the stuff, and expectations got raised to what i would consider unrealistic.

lets all take a breath, back away from the ledge, and see how we handle the loss. 1 game better not define this season.

It was like the 3 holdovers had a Big Mac Hangover, and tried to remember how to play that style ineffectively.

They've all shown that they can do better than this, so I'm not worried tonight. I'm really disappointed and ticked off about losing to UNI, especially after watching them, but not worried.

The good news is we won't play too many teams, if any, that play the style UNI does. They are good at what they do, but my god, it is painful to watch. That's what really annoys me about losing to them. Not only does my team have to lose, but I have to be tortured for two hours.

Exactly how I feel.

Well, I was starting to think we had a decent team, but tonight's game reminds me that we definitely don't. I think it'll take a miracle for us to finish outside bottom 3 in the Big XII.

For those of you calling DG out, you do realize he is the only way we get shots? He is the only person that can consistently create plays. Remember when Jake tied it up? Do you know who made a great pass all the way across the court.

DG didn't play well but he is our best player. He has to take shots, but tonight they weren't falling. He had a lot of open 10-15 footers and he missed. That happens some nights. He will be fine.
