Yeah, the mornings and evenings are pretty comfortable, but during the day it’s HOT.Are you working out in it all day? Because that might change your opinion.
I’m ready for a frost to kill this stupid crop.

You haven't seen anything until you've seen the sh##show on the Kelly gravel roads between Ames and Huxley with Hwy 69 bridge out...it needs its own thread.Gravel roads seem extra dusty now. Was riding along the new bike trail west of Bouton on Sat. The limestone dust seems to hang in the air forever.
It was nice they oiled them at the start of the project to cut back on some of the dust, but I've never been so ready for road construction to be done. I take that route to Ames and back at least twice a day, and it's been brutal. You haven't seen anything until you've seen the sh##show on the Kelly gravel roads between Ames and Huxley with Hwy 69 bridge out...it needs its own thread.
And it came down in a hurry! 1.1 inches in my gage in about 1.5-2 hours, but that last band before it stopped around 8:30 was really intense.Ames got the rain we desperately needed.
I don't see a chance for rain until 7pm. Even then it's pretty low. Weird. So Johnston just canceled their homecoming parade tonight due to the risk of severe weather this evening. Am I missing something? There doesn't seem to be much in the forecast that I can see for central Iowa. Northern Iowa along the border is the only place I see anything.

cmjh9?Guess who left his windows down in his car at work while a downpour came through?
I had 1.1 this morning in West Ames and the yard still felt as hard as concrete after work. It had gotten so dry that I think a good portion of it just ran off. Hoping for another good shot this weekend. Its pouring in N. Ames right now, we got more rain today than the rest of the month. I had 2 inches in the gauge before this storm tonight, which added another half inch at least the way it was coming down.
We had our yard plugged a couple of weeks ago, which really helped getting the rain into the ground. We ended up with another .4 tonight, all together I had almost 2 inches in my gauge today.I had 1.1 this morning in West Ames and the yard still felt as hard as concrete after work. The last 6 weeks took a massive toll on my what was previously beautiful lawn after this spring.
