Those of us in Eastern Iowa are trending very dry again. Saw a FB discussion amongst some mets (paging @MNCYWX ) I know that unless CR gets rain this week this will go down as the first September on record for the city to not receive any rainfall. Look for the drought to continue to creep back in.

CR is the worst in the state. Nothing measurable on the month. Lowest September precip is 0.37". Really good shot at beating that record with no super soakers expected in the next week.

Most locations in Iowa are running well below normal for rainfall this month. While it is normal to see dry stretches going into the fall, this is a potent stretch. Occasional rain still serves a good purpose, even if it does mean more field days to bring in the harvest by being dry. Drought continues to creep back in. Just a month ago we didn't have hardly any 'dry' conditions noted in the state.

If the month ended today for Des Moines, it would go down as the 6th driest on record. (0.60" fell on the weekend)

Rooting for a deep freeze soon to kill these stupid tiny bugs that make it impossible to enjoy being out on your deck.
Hmm, no tiny bugs on my deck. Must mean your deck. I like watching the last of the hummingbirds and the bees fight over the sugar water in the feeders. One is three feet from where I sit.

The hurricane is gonna slam into the Florida panhandle very soon. Doesn't look like it's gonna impact our game in Houston fortunately.

Zero measurable rain at the Cedar Rapids airport since August 30.

Zero rain in the forecast in the next week.

I might be wrong, but I don’t think it’s possible to have a drier month than one with zero precipitation.
Yeah, but it's a big dry. (The white area expects to see no rain for the next week.)

Hard to believe! My vehicles look like I drive them all over country roads which I don't...the dust/dirt on them is terrible! We need rain for obvious reasons...but it would be great to have rain to just "wash" all the dirt and dust off of everything!

East of St Louis we've been getting hammered since 8 a.m. And now the winds are picking up. That was a MONSTER hurricane.
