I think we're getting lucky with this slow thaw. Just above freezing for like 7-8 days in a row, letting the snow pack melt slowly. We'd have a real mess if it had ramped up to 50 degrees right away.
It's wild you can have a forecast where the daytime high and the overnight low only vary 5-8 degrees for an entire week.

I don't know if I've ever experienced that before.

My wife is freaked out by that too. Someday, we are going to go back to Key West (where we had our honeymoon) and I want to take Highway 1 down (we flew on a puddle jumper last time which freaked me out a little bit lol) and she's not going to like that drive.
We drove highway one three weeks ago for the first time. The views were not as awesome as I was expecting. The first 60-70 mikes was not that cool, except the alcohol at the gas stations was much cheaper on the way down. No we didnt drink and drive. We will fly directly to Key West if there is a next time.

My main reason is that I didn't like the puddle jumper that we flew into Key West on. I think it was an 8 seater, and I was sitting behind the (older) pilot judging his health, watching the gauges, judging the mental stability of the passenger that sat next to him and how I would have to choke him out if he went for the stick. In short, I'm better flying if you just put a wall between me and what's going on lol

Isn't there a speed ferry you can take from the port in Fort Myers? I thought somebody told me that was the way to do it....

No way I could get my wife in the car with me if I said we were going to drive down there.

Just looked it up, and that looks fun, and it sounds like it takes about the same time as driving too!

It's January 24th in the Twin Cities and I haven't really shoveled yet this season. Scooped 1/2" or so off the front steps a couple of times and also did a five minute push snow off the driveway a couple times but no actually shoveling. No snow on the ground and it's foggy and misty out. Weird weird weird.
