That 1997 team had no superstars on it other than Cato and really performed well. There were many "glue" guys on it though. Willoughby was daggers for opposing teams when he could get a back cut and screen to get open. Kenny Pratt and Klay Edwards were tacticians at one thing the current team does horribly: offensive rebounding and scoring. And Cato was intimidating as a shot blocker and easy for Holloway to find in the post.
Floyd's earlier teams even had a player named David Hickman who Floyd would send in to foul hard the opposing teams best player just to get him out of rhythm. "Hitman" Hickman was what we called him as students.
