NWC To Commit Friday

I've read numerous reports from players being recruited and current commits indicating that conference realignment has had no bearing on their decision on where to play basketball. I don't think Missouri's looking into options has any affect on NWC's choice coming up on Friday.
I don't understand why most people would gladly get rid of Railey?? Is it because he has gotten into trouble? I mean you can't expect too much from a freshman center they usually don't come in and set the world on fire but by I think he can turn out to be a very valuable asset if he works hard on improving his game.
I hope no one wants to see one of our players leave, however if the decision coming from NWC on Friday is that he will be joining Iowa State than we know someone is leaving. Personally I now have fairly high doubts that he will be joining Iowa State if he is planning to sign during the early period (in November). The only way I see this going down in Iowa State's favor is if he verbally commits and will sign in the spring period; that gives us the option of waiting and seeing if someone does leave before actually signing.
But, this isn't Mike Anderson's Missouri Tigers, it's Frank Haith's Missouri Tigers.
There is still speculation swirling that Haith's tenure at MU may be cut short depending on what else comes out of the Nevin Shapiro scandal at Miami. A coach whose best year at the U was 07-08 where he managed 8-8 in the conference and a best-of-tenure 5th place finish in the ACC. Yes, I realize Duke and UNC usually boat race the ACC every year, but 5th place is the best he could do? Keep in mind this rogue booster, Shapiro, was allegedly handing ca$h to players with Haith's knowledge!
Why would a young man want to sign with a program that may be forced to fire the coach? If he picks MU, then good luck to him!

Railey was a known project when we recruited him. It was WRITTEN by numerous scouts/ analysts. The value lies in having a body/ role player who is 6'-11", and 250# now, could be 270# by the time he graduates. No one thinks Railey will be All Big12, the the size is priceless. It's really hard to find, and it often rides the pine four years because it's too slow. That's not Railey. His potential is valuable. He may never reach it, but if it does - it's worth the wait.
Oh but their are plenty eager to theorize who will leave and why they should. :realmad:
I agree with your verbal commit part. He can commit but not sign and see what happens and sign if and when a scholly is open.
They are the same people who freak out everytime one of our college athletes gets busted for drinking or something that we all did in college too. Or, they are the fans who don't understand that usually it takes until their 3rd or 4th year in the program for big men to fully develop their games. Seriously, most big men, even the ones who are good when they are juniors and seniors, are not very good when they are freshman.
Pardon me if this has been posted already, but did NWC visit ISU? I know he visited Missouri a few weeks ago.
I've also heard from a coach that says Point Guard is our huge weakness on our team...though McGee might not play PG so who knows.
Every time I see or hear this guy's name, both now and in the future, I will think of Daniel Tosh. "Negus, please."
I will agree that THIS YEAR's team has a weakness at PG, but is it crazy to think that between Lucious and Sledge (with a year of experience) that we'll be ok NEXT YEAR?
