NWC To Commit Friday

the only people who think royce is going pro are a few cyclone fans.

the nba draft, if it occurrs, will be loaded with two years' worth of prospects.

any report says NWC is down to ISU and mizzou or is considering those two, I have yet to see any reports in the last few weeks since SDW commit that says Iowa State was in to watch NWC or that NWC recently talked to Fred or Iowa State.

I believe there was once scholie open and SDW took it before he visited, instead of waiting.
 
Williams did report that we were activelty recruiting him but I don't know of anything other than that. There have been multiple tweets that it was ISU or Mizzou for NWC but who knows what that means.

I recall that post by CW but one should probably assume ISU was still actively recruiting NWC in hopes that he would wait until next spring to sign when ISU might have an available schollie.
 
If we're in the lead for Zeigler I'm cool with NWC at Mizzou, but if we miss on both of them I'm going to be sad. We already missed Burton for 2013, so 0 for 3 would suck.
 
seems like we are losing recruiting momentum fast. Losing Burton, NWC, Early, and many prospects are losing interest in us :(

I'm not sure you can consider it as "losing interest." We are getting a few of the ones we target - filling the open spots - then seeing the others go elsewhere. NWC is still possible, as we are still after him.

Besides, after we start winning this year, things will pick up :rolleyes:

You're either a troll or an idiot. I can't quite tell.

ISU lost interest in Early. I never saw ISU showing much interest in Burton. We may not even be recruiting NWC... Even if ISU is, where his scholarship comes from is murky.

Moving on, its early October and we've filled up our 2012 recruiting class with 2 Rivals top 150 guys and another recruit with a solid offer list.

So I ask you, what momentum are we losing?

We're not losing NWC and Early. There are not enough spots for all of these guys, and we have already landed top-tier prospect in Niang, Okoro, and SDW. At most, we are losing out on one of them, but in reality we may not have a spot open and be still trying to land either of them.

I think I can say with 100% confidence that his injury has zero weight on his college decision. He obviously has his mind made up if he is going to announce on Friday, so an injury that comes out today wouldn't have changed his mind.

That said, I still believe that Missouri is the front-runner for his commitment.
 
Why would Bowers out make any difference? If anything it hurts them. Bowers would have been a senior one year from now. NWC probably doesn't care about players on the team this year. Bowers no likely redshirts and has two years left to play, taking minutes away from NWC.

That is if their playing time would ever overlap at all, which it probably wouldn't.

Personally, I would let NWC go to Mizzou and if something opens up in the spring, find a good transfer that helps the team in 13-14.

two of those guys I would say on your list of non-transfers could easily leave for other reasons...Railey is obvious...from what I've heard about PG play, McGee could be the odd guy out.
 
Nobody would have guessed that McD's JUCO recruit would have broken his arm, never gotten a shot to play, had people play over him, and then transfer at Christmas.

And that was on a team that went about 2 players deep on the bench! Playing time could be a huge issue for at least one player next year with the amount of players we have. Not to mention if anyone doesn't make it academically or gets the boot for some other reason. Better to be prepared for the inevitable (which is historically true, it is a matter of when and not if)
 
only reason I'm thinking McGee is he's a junior...meaning with the talent we have he might get discouraged if Allen and Sledge steal his PT...somewhat similar to DP last year...just a thought, hope he's better then I think because our biggest weakness is Point guard
