Nevada from a Nevada fan

I'll give it a go
4 senior starters. 6 total
Very efficient on offense, like to get out in transition, but won't get out of control.
Defensively, the national guys haven't realized it yet, but Iowa St is actually much better on defense than the Hoiberg years. It's not all about out scoring our opponents now. We're best at on-ball defense. Post defense, and rebounding are our weakness.

Starts at the top, Monte Morris is a freak, top 5 PG in the country. 6:1 assist to turnover ratio, highest in NCAA history. Scores more this year, than in the past. Usually off the dribble, but still good from deep

Naz Mitrou Long 5th year guy, leads in 3 pt makes, but will finish in the lane occasionally

Matt Thomas. Pure shooter, best 3 pt %, was a very good defender last season, bone spurs this year have slowed him some

Deonte Burton 6'4 250, 7' wingspan, athletic freak. Pretty inconsistent early, but has really settled in as of late. Can shoot the 3, but his specialty is taking a guy one on one and finishing at the rim.

Solomon Young 6'8 freshmen. Only started the last like ten games, but Iowa St is 9-1 in those games. Gives the team a legit post presence. Won't score much, but plays physical defense.

Off the bench
Donovan Jackson. Shooting very good from 3 the last month, like 55%. Can handle the ball when Monte needs a breather
Nick Weiler Babb, athletic versatile g/f, won't score much, but plays smart, and good on defense
Darrell Bowie, 5th year transfer from N. Ill, playing his best basketball of the season. Settled into his role, after starting some games in January. Layups on offense, and can guard decent in the paint.

Good run-down, but I'm not sure what Babb having an athletic and versatile girlfriend has to do with anything, but good for him though.

I loved that the guys where all yelling Hallywood when they saw the draw. Hope Hallice doesn't reveal our secret stuff.

IOWA STATE SECRETS:

Monte Morris likes chocolate chips in his pancakes.

Naz Mitrou Long once didn't make it home in time for his parent's curfew but snuck in and didn't get caught.

Brigadoon is Solomon Young's favorite musical.

Matt Thomas is a great basketball player, but even better at badminton.

Deonte Burton has a picture of Megan Fox inside the cover of his Trapper Keeper.

Ha ha, Hallice! Now you've got nothing!

I think all 3 games in KC were won by the Defense.

Our defense was fine but our offense was a damn flame thrower. We didn't shoot well against WVU and still crushed them on that end. Our defense is better than it has been in recent years but coming into the tournament, it was moving the wrong direction, even if slightly. It was nice to see it kind of steady this weekend against good offensive teams.

I find it weird that no one is talking about the fact that not only did we win the tournament, we didn't really play a real close game.

That's one high-light video, which is all I've seen of Nevada this year. But, Oliver is an absolute beast! His game looks a lot like Burton's. Deonte is probably better from the outside (especially off the bounce) and Oliver is likely more imposing down low, but they seem to have similar games.

This is going to be fun. If ISU keeps playing like they've been the last month, they should win. But, Nevada is not someone to overlook by any means and if we aren't ready and play poorly, we can easily lose this game.

Love this time of year!

Hey guys die hard Nevada fan here , wanted to give you guys a run down on our team hope you guys could do the same.

Our coach Eric Musselman is a previous NBA head coach with the king's an Warriors an to be honest in a way has copied the ISU model on college transfers

We only play about a 6 man rotation but go 8 deep

Cam Oliver our best player only a sophomore is the highest rated draft prospect from either team an should be a sure first rounder this year.
6"8 has a 40 plus vertical is a walking highlight real. Leads the MWC in blocks an spectacular dunks an has NBA range from 3

Marcus Marshall our sg is one of the most underrated gaurds in the country senior transfer from Missouri st should be on a NBA roster averaged about 20 a game. If you guys can stop Marshall an Oliver you will win

Jordan Caroline our power forward is a beast the son of former NFL great Simon Rice, only a sophomore has gone off for 45 an 30 this year an plays tell the whistle stops

DJ fenner our small forward averaging in the teens and a 40% 3 shooter

Those are our big 4 an where we get our production from

Curious to here about Iowa st hope for a good game

DraftExpress is the best out there and they have Monte #42 and Oliver #46

I was hoping someone with skillz could change Michael's to Monte's.

Come on people, is it really that difficult to just be nice to the kid? He came here trying to strike up discussion. Some of us are being real jerks to him.

It's bad enough that we have so many that think they're funny guys, and then add to it the recycling of the same jokes because they (I'm assuming) haven't read through the thread.

But then if you go read Nevada's board, ours looks pretty tame. There are like 3 posts about the actual basketball game, and the rest just seems like they are trying to think of stereotypes without actually knowing any of them.

I think getting TCU instead of Kansas is basically the reason for that, even though both Okie State and WVU were quality opponents that could have easily made the games go down to the wire.

Oh, I agree. If it's KU instead of TCU, we're a 4 seed and people are all over our nuts. For whatever reason, that WVU didn't hype many people even though that's a far worse matchup for us.
