Nevada from a Nevada fan

umm well they dont full court press; it is a nifty 1/2 court press that could actually give us fits.
All of the Nevada games that I watched, the 3/4 court press was used to speed up the tempo and not to create turnovers.

A lot of MWC teams would deliberately slow the tempo believing it would be to their advantage- hence Nevada counteracting by employing ways of speeding the game up.

Nevada will double and trap on ball screens (similar to what ISU did more early in the year). If Nevada traps ball screens ISU has the players to absolutely take advantage.

There is little defensively from Nevada that is cause for much concern. They are still solid and have athletes, but I think ISU will have ample opportunities at uncontested 3s and feasting off poor rotations and defensive lapses- IF there is solid ball rotation from side-to-side and aggressive drives. Like ALL year: ISU is best when the ball does not stick

I haven't seen much of Nevada but they look more like an aggressive WVU type team without the press playing Hoiball. Not much of a bench however which could factor if they get into foul trouble. We should attack the basket all night.

It looks and sounds like they're the type of team that could go off and knock down 15 threes against us, even if we're playing good defense. If that happens we could be in real trouble. If we put our at Texas effort out there, a good effort from them will win. Thankfully we haven't seen that version of ISU for over a month. I think our best beats their best, our good beats their good, etc.

One thing we did very well against WVU, outside of a few possessions when they first switched to the 1-3-1, was attack with the lead. We didn't shoot the ball great, but we got to the rim. Naz, Monte, and Deonte in particular didn't settle for a ton of long 2s as we've been prone to do. We don't have to hit 10+ threes to win this game so hopefully we remember that if shots aren't falling. Naz had a rough shooting night against WVU but everybody else is coming off a great stretch of shooting the ball. Hopefully that doesn't go away on everybody at the same time.

I was commenting on this during the game. It was refreshing to see the team continue to attack even late with the lead rather than try to burn 20 seconds of clock before making something happen. You gotta dance with the girl who brought ya.
