Why should we ever feel good about losing?
Fixed. You should never feel good after a loss, that's when complacency and apathy set in.

Why should we ever feel good about losing?
Unfortunately- ISU's team last year was just parts. When your leader(Craig) is only interested in the points he can score and isn't willing to play defense or be physical what is the message to the rest of the team? Should we have expected Gilstrap, Dendy & Colvin to adopt a team approach when Craig didn't?
You do realize that this is the first time a team from the MVC has advanced to the Sweet 16 since 1979...right?!? And that was Indiana St. with Larry Bird. So, let's not go crazy with how great the MVC is. In fact, the list of mid majors in the Sweet 16 and beyond is typically very short.
This game proves only one thing...on any given night a less talented team can take down a more talented team. If UNI plays KU 10 times...KU wins 9. If UNI plays in the Big 12 they finish way below .500 in conference. This is not to take away from their great win last night.
If you think athleticism is overrated then you need to look at the teams that have been populating the Final Four over the last decade and look at the teams that will be there this year. Athleticism is not overrated.
Once again, tonight's game proves that the style of ball played by the mid-majors like UNI just can't compete with the elites of the BCS conferences....oh wait, never mind.
for one game, yes. but for an entire season, no.
Todd Lickliter tried to win "the Butler way" at Iowa. How did that work out for him?
It's a different game on and off the floor at the high major level. UNI beating Kansas is why the NCAA tournament is such a great event.
You know, this is always said by people like you, but how do you know? You probably picked KU to win by 30 last night too.

if uni played the stretch of isu's schedule that consisted of KSU @ home, followed by mizzou and kansas on the road, then home games with okie state and Texas A&M, i highly doubt uni could shoot it as well as they did yesterday for that long of a period of time. And it took Eagleseder (sp?) making threes to beat kansas.
Buddy, you should enjoy the big win.
Quit trying to extrapolate the occasional mid major upset in the NCAA tourney into something more than it is. If the quality of play at the mid major level was so damned good you would have more MVC appearances in the Sweet 16 than 8 in the last two decades.
What the hell is the MVC "style of play." Somebody, anybody, answer that question.
If we had 6-7 teams in the tournament every year like the BCS conferences, we'd have a lot more S16's too.
MVC style of play (honestly I still haven't seen a good answer to what that actually is) will work in any conference in America if you have good players who fit the system. Period. End of story.
Me thinks Mr. Jacobson just made himself a millionaire..:notworthy:
The reason ISU can't win with McD is because UNI has players that are glad to be DI athletes. They understand that it is a privilege to be a DI athlete.
ISU basketball players think that ISU should be honored by their presence instead of the being honored to be an ISU player. They have it backwards. They feel like if things aren't going their way, then it is ISU's problem, not theirs.
McDermott, Jacobsen, Licklitter, and co had success at the smaller schools because those players came to school to work hard in the classroom and on the court. They were there to do what the coach asked.
