McDermott to Creighton?

I'm puzzled why so many people are understanding this. Does anyone really think Greg Mcdemott has acomplished his goals at Iowa State? I think for Greg the only way the job is done to expectations is if he takes ISU to the Big Dance and and wins some games.

Yes his job is half done at best.

If his goal was to go to the "Big Dance", by your logic he was closer to his goal when he was hired than he currently is. So he is half-way to his goal, when he was about 3/4ths of the way there when he was hired...

He hasn't gotten to the NCAA, and he hasn't won many games. So which half is done exactly? What has he accomplished?

According to an article on espn.com when Altman decided to go back to creighton, it stated that he was making close to 1 million a year. That's pretty much what mac makes right now anyway. I say if creighton wants to talk to mac he should listen. Also, if they offer him the job, he should take it in a heartbeat if they r willing to pay that type of cash. It just sounds like a great career move in my opinion.

It does make some sense. He has to be able to see that his time here is limited and is based solely on success. Success will be hard to come by with the limited roster we have...so get out while you can. If Creighton would take him, I wouldn't be suprised to see him leave.

Dang. Think I'll go back to work and quit trying to explain what I thought was a simple concept with a simple analogy....Why don't we just calulate the odds to the 5th percentile?

I just dont' think Greg will cut and run like half his players have. He will stick to his guns and work hard for the institution that hired him.

Yeah but do your really think Creighton will want to buy out Greg's contract?

I would almost guarantee Pollard would be willing to give them a pass on the buyout, He might even call Creighton on McD's behalf.

Not sure about everybody else, but I was just busting your chops. It was a knock at McDermott, not you.

Dream all you want, but:

1.) GMac doesn't want to leave
2.) JP doesn't want to get rid of GMac

Those are 2 pretty big hurdles.

And we have a new leader for most ******** thread of the week!

Look Bozo, I said it was wild speculation. That's what message boards are for - to speculate and discuss. I'll be anxious to see how profound the next thread you start will be.
