McDermott to Creighton?

Of course, there has also been speculation today on both the Oregon and Creighton sides that the Creighton AD might be following Altman to Oregon.........since they don't currently have an AD. Doesn't appear to be true though. Crazy day!

Maybe we'll hit the jackpot and Oregon will take Pollard off our hands!

I'd say you are all getting excited over nothing...but past experience tells me that there may be something to this.

While it would be nice to get a break with McDermott like we did with Chiz, I don't know if now is a good time. If this were happening a month ago, I'd be all for it. Would we be better off with whatever hire we could manage to get this late (if Oregon and all their money and their fancy new arena had to settle for Altman, things don't look great for us on that front), or with another year of McDermott? I guess getting out of the $2 million buyout would help...

Should be an interesting couple of days...

It is interesting to see when our hires have been (from a quick google news archive search, so may be off by a day):

Johnny Orr: March 25, 1980
Floyd: May 6, 1994
Eustachy: July 29, 1998
Wayne Morgan: May 14, 2003
Greg McDermott: March 21, 2006

Does it say anything about anything? Probably not.. just interesting.

Better coaches have been found at a similar time of year.........just sayin...

Who do you have in mind that will show the dedication to ISU that Pollard has shown with the success he has had in every sport except basketball? Just wondering.

Just when I thought it was safe to start listening to local radio again. I might as well swear that crap off forever.

No kidding. Why would we want that? Pollard is great with second hires...

And the overall financial shape of our Athletic department. Why in the hell would we want an AD that makes $ for the University and improves our facilities? Hell, let's just get Bruce Van De Velde back, charge $100 for football season tickets, and guarantee our position in the Big 12 basement.

but, Pollard asked people to give MORE money. GASP!!! At Iowa State of all places! This CANNOT be allowed to continue.

Why doesn't the Jake PR machine get ahead of this story and squash it?

If not that leads to believe where there is smoke there is fire correct?

Be on Channel 5 here in 1 minute to put this to rest if not true, otherwise this has to have some legs.

Truf. If this happened JP gets to clean up his only real proven mistake (I don't think Chizik was here long enough for us to call him a failure). Gmac goes back to the MVC. Ideal for everyone.

This would be the greatest early bday present ever for me...

Wow, we didn't get Larry until July?

Since Floyd went to the pro's, it was a later thing. That being said I'm pretty sure Floyd handpicked Larry for the job. If we are going in cold to a coaching search it will not be that easy.

Larry is available. Floyd would still recommend him. Larry has 2 more titles than any other ISU coach in history.
