Matt Thomas Playing time

He's still better than the next guy off the bench. Does anyone actually think Custer would do any better against Kansas or Texas? If we had a better option then we wouldn't play Thomas and use that guy.
I would love this, unfortunately two years of playing shows that he may be incapable of playing at this level.
First half turnovers and poor job defending the perimeter is what ISU didn't do well tonight. Matt was not a liability for either of those items - but the "fans" will have their whipping boy regardless.
If he's so bad, then why does Fred play him. If you're gunna call out Thomas, then you better call out Fred for playing him in the same breath. And if you call out Fred then you better have a good reason, like you're at practice and you've seen everything.
No, but every minute he plays is one minute less than Naz, Nader or McKay get. At least you get a little better D and rebounding from Nader. McKay is on a totally different level than Thomas. Even though Naz can be streaky, he hits way more shots and is slightly better on D than Thomas.
Frankly, I think this team would be better off giving Thomas's minutes to Edozie.
I don't see the point of this thread. Is it trying to convince everyone that one of our players sucks? If it is, you're not a very nice person.
He has two more years as a cyclone and will do good things. However......he is playing too many minutes now. And he knows it too....thus the pucker job.
tonight, we were rolling along and he came in the game and that is when KU went on their run. I don't know.....he just isn't adding anything now and we have other options. You could argue that the turning point of tonights game was when he came in and we ceased scoring with about what, 5 minutes left in the half. I'll have to go back and look.

Not sure that would've helped tonight. Naz Nader, Hogue and BDJ got sucked into the lane a ridiculous amount of times leading to open three's for KU.
