Did Kane's 3 point performance today bring his season total to 38/95 , that is, 40% (best on the team)? Or am I reading the stats wrong?

I think Mushy mentioned how Kane has really gained some valuable help from Hoiberg on his shot.

I had to laugh when earlier in the season they were talking **** about Kane's inability to shoot the 3 and then he went off in that game. Hes shot well ever since.

Hey, at one time I said Kane's limited shooting ability was going to limit his impact to this team. What a dummy.

Agree wholeheartedly on Kane improving his shot & that being big tonight.
HOWEVER - the man's crossover was killin' it tonight. Let a couple finishes at the rim not get in, but I'll let that go due to the physical nature the stripes were allowing.

What's great is that Kane's worst game 3 pt shooting is a single 0-4. He has shot as many as 8 or 9, but shoots that many only if he's making them. Never had an 0-8 game. (cough)

Mush mentioned D. Kane being the first guy in 15 years to have 2000 points, 700 boards, and 600 assists.

I don't want to research it, who was the guy?

Kane was just outstanding again tonight, he is playing at as high a level as any player we have ever had. Steady, not always flashy, good defender, just an outstanding player. Tough son of b too.

Well, no one has ever reached each of those career figures (at least back through the 1997-98 season) as a Division 1 men’s basketball player.

The toughest category to reach is 600 career assists (only about a hundred players have done that dating back to ’97-98). More than 500 players all time, however, have scored at least 2,000 points.

Among the players with at least 600 career assists (dating back 15 years), these are the players who were the closest to the 2,000-700-600 club:

D.J. Cooper of Ohio (2010-13) – 80 rebounds short
Nate Wolters of South Dakota State (2010-13) – 99 rebounds short
Greivis Vasquez of Maryland (2007-10) – 53 rebounds short
Among active players (in addition to Kane), Chaz Williams, who played at Hofstra before transferring to UMass, has 1,936 points, 524 rebounds and 825 assists. Williams still needs nearly 180 rebounds, and at 5-foot-9, that is an unlikely target for the senior.

A couple of current NBA players – Jameer Nelson (St. Joe’s) and Kirk Hinrich (Kansas) – were somewhat close to the 2,000-700-600 trifecta.

Nelson, the 2004 Wooden Award winner, finished 119 boards shy. Hinrich is probably the closest among former Big 12 players, but he needed another 247 points and 168 rebounds.

Anyone know when his last points came? Seems like he didn't score the last 14 minutes or so.

The most impressive thing is that he can create his own space to shoot the 3. A couple of crossovers and a jab step to create space all the while keeping his shoulders square to the basket and he's been firing and hitting. Really impressive.

Looking at Kane from an opposing team perspective of he continues to hit near 40% from three it's just not fair.

Kane was very good last night. Against KSU he was just pressing a little too much, which he has done a few times this year. This team would be incredible with a shooter like McGee on it. I think, sometimes Kane doesn't trust the other guys to make a shot in games, and tries to go into MJ mode.

His gotten very good with his three point shot selection (minus end of half shots). He's not forcing it and letting them come naturally and I'm sure that's helping with his percentage as well.
