Justin Hamilton considering staying at Iowa State

I just got off the phone with a very solid source who told me that right now, there is mutual interest between the Hoiberg staff and former Cyclone Justin Hamilton.

Absolutely nothing has happened yet but again, there is mutual interest.

A lot of people have asked about Hamilton getting out of his deal with LSU.

The thing is, he hasn't actually signed with LSU. When a players transfer from a school, they sign some sort of a release form from the school they are currently at. At the end of the term, that's when paper work is dealt with for the future school.

So right now, if Hamilton wanted to stay at Iowa State, it would be perfectly legal. I'll keep you updated.

McDermott never played him when we got into up-tempo styled games because he couldn't keep up, that's why we rarely saw Justin in the 2nd halves the last 2 years. He would have to get his conditioning up big time to play instead of a guy like Laron.

Would love Ham back, a great kid who worked his butt off on the court, would be huge, huge, huge to get him back!

I have been basically silent on my opinions of McD. As a Cyclone, I always wished for the best & wanted him to succeed. For JH to decided to leave (under GM) and now possibly wanting to come back speaks volumes about what was actually happening under GM's tenure. I know most of you were already convinced of this - but this completely confirms it for me!
