***OFFICIAL 2026 WEATHER THREAD***

Nope. A very specific procedure. Basically fly to a point and get in line as close as a half mile in trail, ATC talks and you confirm by rocking your wings. They split you to two different runways which have dots painted on them so they can land multiple aircraft at a time on the same runway. That is how general aviation makes Oshkosh the busiest airport in the world for the next week and a half. There are a number of great videos on YouTube etc. of it. Just look up Airventure FISK VFR Approach

Wow - thanks for the info, very interesting!

The smoke seems much better today but I had a bit of a scratchy throat from just a little time outside yesterday and today.

Now the heat and humidity are getting me geared up for fall.

July 18 marks the 40 year anniversary of the Fridley, MN tornado. It was famous as it was one of the earliest known tornados viewed and recorded from the sky. It was also broadcasted live during the 5PM local news

I remember watching this live as a kid and it got me hooked on weather.

Was pretty nice yesterday but back to Smoke on the Water for air quality today in Mpls. Good day to say inside and hope maybe it clears later like it did a few days back in the afternoon.
