Do we know how the renovations will effect the actual game? Such as...
Will this reduce wind or create even more of a swirling effect?
Will the temp on the field be noticeably warmer on September games (days with little breeze).
In the event of OT, will visiting teams always choose SEZ?
Will the visiting section be the same? And did I hear that the visiting locker room will be under the new seating?

Just curious if you guys can help with these questions & list any other possible changes to the actual game that we may see this fall. Thnx.

If a team doesn't travel well, I don't see why they would choose the SEZ. I would think they would want to get away from the bowled in end if they don't have many fans there anyway.

But then they have to deal with the student section at the other end. It's a slippery slope for our opponents and I like it!

Sitting in the SEZ I'm perfectly fine with them choosing that end.

Do they allow switching ends between the 1st and 2nd OT?

I didn't think so, but apparently yes:

Extra Periods

ARTICLE 3. The NCAA tiebreaker system will be used when a game is tied

after four periods. NCAA football-playing rules apply, with the following

exceptions:

RULE 3 / PERIODS, TIME FACTORS AND SUBSTITUTIONS FR-45

a. Immediately after the conclusion of the fourth quarter, officials will instruct

both teams to retire to their respective team areas. The officials will

assemble at the 50-yard line and review the tiebreaker procedures.

b. The officials will escort the captains (Rule 3-1-1) to the center of the field

for the coin toss. The referee shall toss a coin at midfield in the presence of

not more than four field captains from each team and another game official,

first designating the field captain of the visiting team to call the coin toss.

The winner of the toss may not defer the choice and shall choose one of the

following options:

1. Offense or defense, with the offense at the opponent’s 25-yard line to

start the first possession series.

2. Which end of the field shall be used for both possession series of that

overtime period.

c. The loser of the toss shall exercise the remaining option for the first extra
period and shall have the first choice of the two options for subsequent
even-numbered extra periods

Only if the team wants to give up the option to choose offense/defense.

1st OT: Team A wins initial flip, chooses defense. Team B chooses south end of field.
2nd OT: Team B chooses south of end of field. Team A chooses defense.

Thanks. Wasn't sure if they continued to have that choice, or just went from O to D (vice versa) after the initial series.

I can't quite tell what they are doing in the SE lower bowl. Are they going to cover the pump, or not?

The QC
It looks like the height of the beam is higher that the old pump structure so it should be covered by seats. Or maybe not.

JMO, the pump structure will be covered by seats. Otherwise, the ticket office would have relocated the early SEZ season ticket buyers before the current relocation/upgrade program and removed the seats as an option.
