John Deere strike imminent?

Actually what the majority of farmers are asking for is the diagnostics. That's it. We want to be able to pull up the codes see what is wrong in order to get he right part to fix it. It's ridiculous when we have some sensor that requires us to make a call to the local dealer to have them come out paying $250 service call plus time plus mileage plus use of equipment to tell us a simple sensor is the issue. I'm perfectly capable of hooking up a cable and reading.

Honestly that's completely fair. That should be available. Just my opinion of course.

Oh, so you know this person? You know that he had a side job? Exactly.

It's my understanding that it's pretty common practice for these people to have "off the books" jobs combined with their other benefits.
Ok, but you left off some major information which was that your classmate was committing fraud. Yes, I suppose someone who was committing fraud probably could make more than they could if they were not committing fraud and just had one job.

snowcraig’s assumption that your classmate was acting legally was a completely fine assumption to make.

As a 20-something, it's amazing to me to hear about the old days where someone could go work at a factory right after high school graduation, stay in the same company for 47 years, with a spouse who stays home and two kids, and still be able to afford a house and a car and expenses for the kids - all with a pension at retirement at 65. And they'd work a solid 40 hours a week on the floor and no more.

The world has changed so much, in worker-unfriendly ways.

You can still do that. Thousands of people do it working at the plants all over the country.

This is why the 2022 Ford Maverick pick up truck I ordered is being built in Mexico.

Sidebar-The Maverick is really appealing but it's size has put me off for now. From what I remember seeing it is smaller than the Ranger.

I know the situation. If you have a side job that makes more than the Deere job why have a Deere job in the first place?

If you add a 0, I would probably sell you mine.
I will 100% sell him mine!

We're talking about working while being laid off. So he was getting paid by the union while being laid off and also working another job on the side. Once he was brought back on at Deere, he stopped doing the other job. I assume he was also getting unemployment during this time but not sure on that one. The combination above, was paying more his job at Deere.
