Walden did not have nads when he did this. Nads would have been voting Florida #1 weeks before he actually did. Florida played 2 weeks after OSU's season ended so how do you justify voting a team #1 all season long then drop them to #3 when they didn't even play another game? Walden was rocking the boat and trying to avoid a Michigan/OSU rematch by helping Florida's cause. Granted it was only one voter and probably didn't make much difference in the numbers but the BCS is a calculated formula and points from voting polls factor into that.
Well, maybe, because Ohio State beat nobody, but then we watched Michigan put 39 on the board against their "vaunted" defense, and all of a sudden you could see that Ohio State was vulnerable to speed. There was a big chink in their seemingly invinceable armor.
Michigan had their shot, did you want to see that game again??? It would have been a more fair match-up, because neither one of them belonged in the championship game, as they each showed in their bowl game.
Florida lost a heartbreaker to Auburn, but beat everyone else in the toughest conference in college football (and it is year in and year out). They may not have been dominant like OSU, but I think that had a lot to do with the quality of the opponents that they were playing.
Ironic, isn't it, almost EVERYONE on this site bashed the Big 10.
