The academics were not up to Iowa standards unfortunately
Our recruiting and the effort we put in production wise is night and day from a decade ago. We’ve adapted in this aspect for sure.
I’m sure that it’s just sheer coincidence that “We Will” features prominently in the state motto.
I don’t know how soon Sadiq is committing…but generally, the kids who are committing communicate and take turns announcing. If that’s the case, the next might be tomorrow.
CPR basically conceded the top players in the State to Iowa every year.
CPR did a great job making people care about the program again after Chizik, and at least helped develop a cultural structure here.
But recruiting definitely was stuck in the mud horribly during that time outside of the Lazard recruitment.
He lost me when he stood at the podium and made fun of twitter and refused to embrace the social media side of recruiting.
Was just a boomer in that regard unfortunately.
You see tons of these coaches from his generation lose their edge when they aren’t willing to change and adapt.
