Jameel McBlock

It is a travesty that he will have to play in every remaining ISU game and ISU will have to play 6 post season games* before he will be eligible to be listed on Big 12 conference overall stats (a player must play in 75% of his team's games and he missed 9 games). Nevermind that he would be leading the blocks category 2.71 to 2.66 despite missing out on virtually all of the cupcakes.

*Do it for Jameel, guys!

That is ridiculous. I think he should win 6th man of the year just to make up for it. It will be hard, as he is going up against the reigning 6th man for the past 10 seasons (KU refs).

It's too bad he hurts the offense so much with spacing, right Greenburg?

Right now it's possible he could win newcomer of the year too if he keeps playing like this. Other than BDJ, who would be his biggest competition?

I would say TaShawn Thomas is the only other player seriously in contention for that newcomer of the year award.

(Unless you count Justin Edwards :jimlad:)

This is a great place for a meal if you're ever in Spring Grove IL

How is his back? He took a beating last night and got knocked down, but it doesn't seem like anybody is talking about it even though it kept him out of practice not too long ago.

On ESPN's stats they say a player has to play in 75% of his team's games to have stats count nationally/conference stat rankings. Is that the same for official NCAA stats?

McKay would be up toward the leaders nationally and in the conf for blocks per game and FG%...which is crazy considering all but a handful of his minutes have been against Big 12 competition and not padding stats with cupcakes.

He's played 10 of 19 games...

I think we would have to go 7-2, 8-1 or 9-0 (oh yeah) in post season to get him to 76% at 30 of 39 games.
