ISU requesting more tickets!!!!!!

Jamie Pollard ‏@IASTATEAD You can purchase bowl tix over the weekend online at http://cyclones.com . We will also be selling them next week. Closing in on 12,000.

------------

If we end up taking somewhere in the neighborhood of 15,000 tickets by game day, that would have to rank up there with some of the top SEC crowds they've had. Sounded like Arkansas bought some 25,000 tickets by gameday in 2010 in their first bowl under Petrino. Also sounded like Mississippi State brought quite the crowd in 2007...Anyways, I can't imagine anybody outside of the Arkansas State and Louisiana Tech fans that could imagine any at-large team selling tickets better to the Liberty bowl than ISU this year!

If we sell 15k through the AD, there could be 20k at the game. 15k or above would be damn impressive for a 6-6 team playing a rematch in the Liberty Bowl.

Agreed. This isn't even a situation completely primed for ISU fans to go. After watching the media react to how KSU sold so many tickets to their BCS bowl game, I want that to be us so badly. We would be even better.

That's just incredible. I'm becoming more and more excited about this game. I hope even more people in the next two weeks breakdown and realize it's a cheap trip and a chance for another ISU home away from home game with these type of ticket sales!

Hell, for attendance purposes an upper end texas bowl would be good. If we ever made the cotton bowl (or to a lesser extent the alamo bowl) that would be another easily driveable game, and with that level of success you know fans would be coming in droves when they show this level of support for 6-6.

Its a fun time to be a cyclone. I dont know if 5 years ago we draw this level of support for a 6-6 team. Fans see the potential that something is building, and have jumped completely on board, from this example to season ticket sales.

Our turnout will be great, but I expect Tulsa's to be low. UCF's would have been better with their massive student body (plus no rematch). Tulsa is only a six hour drive though to Memphis, so who knows.

I'll take a wild shot in the dark at just over 55,000 total attendance for the Liberty Bowl, with a solidly pro-Cyclone crowd.

Tulsa vs Fresno St got almost 55,000 in 2005 and I'm guessing FSU didn't bring the majority. I'm hoping Tulsa fans make the trip this year as well.
