ISU Black Out

Iowa State in black and gold uniforms? If anyone at ISU ever actually allowed that to happen then every last one of them should be fired immediately all the way up to the president of the university.

I never have and never plan on ever owning/wearing an Iowa State piece of clothing and i think the football uniforms should be the same way.

What i meant to say was never have owned a black piece of Iowa State clothing. My closet is stock full of cardinal and gold, with no black.

I'm kind of in between on this one. I do think that it would be dumb to do it in a game where we play a team that wears black like Arizona St. did against Mizzou. I would also have to listen to more Hawk fans with their "little brother" comments. If there was a year to do it though, it would be this one, since we did beat them. Any chance to get them talking about ISU football would be a chance to let them know who the best team in the state is this year. Just like I think if we beat Texas, we can have a burnt orange out against A&M.

Well I guess my question for you guys is do you think the whole. "Shutting off the light in Jack Trice" idea is at least good, or something cool to do. That would be the only reason I think we could do what I mentioned

Didn't read through all of the posts but..

Heres a concept idea. Though I don't want ISU to get all blacks. What if we got some kind of darker color, maybe gray, that had a faint design on the back. The design would be like, clouds or thunderheads up by the shoulders, then tailing all the way down the back and side would be a tornado, and the tornado tailed off all the way down one side of the pants. The design would be faint so it wasn't way too out there.

Just a random thought, was eating some taco john's.

Gray would work great. I loved the gray osu used on their helmets last week. Id say use the all white unis as a template, then sprinkle in some of that gray in areas.

Ok I know that everybody hates black unis and I agree but as I was driving to Taco Bell tonight here in Ames I got to thinking. How or what would these look like, and I thought they would be fitting (for some dumb reason we would do this) for the Oklahoma State night game to cap the season off by "Shutting off the Lights at Jack Trice" theme for the final home game. Plus I know alot of people like all black unis....

Soooo here is my feeble attempt to make black ISU unis (had no idea how to use photoshop until about 30 min ago).

Feel free to make fun of or feel free to make your own. Just thought that they would look pretty cool like this or follow a guideline like this.

Do they sell crack at Taco Bells?

Ever had Marshalltown's, best in the chain!

Has anyone thought about doing a legit mock-up of what black uniforms would look like? I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of gray, as well! Hopefully someone takes me up on this!

I don't HATE it. However, what about changing the black to blue, and then painting our entire field blue?

I actually like that concept, but I dont want people getting annoyed by having weird unis because I can't stand it that Oregon has like 31 different uni's because Nike's owner went there or Maryland having like 17 different unis because Under Armors owner went there. I kinda get annoyed by weird uniforms. I don't know what it gains. But I do like the concept nonetheless.

I like the idea of integrating the "flat black" almost a dark charcoal color scheme into the unis. My thought is going w/a "flat black" looking helmet and pants, w/ the cardinal and gold stripes/ traditional logo and keeping the jerseys very similar (road/home) as they are. You may need to integrate a little of the black color into the jersey, but not a lot. Is there anyway for someone to illustrate that color scheme and put it on the sight to view? I'm visualizing something similar to the helmets I've seen Mizzou and I believe, Va Tech have worn. The color would be similar to the Video board support structure's color and I think would be a cool accent? Just a thought

Those helmets looked ugly. I like their white helmets and the black ones, but not the grey.
