ISU Black Out

I agree, its still fun to mess around with the unis though.

Well, for ****'s sake...you gawd dammed uniform pansies got your all whites, I guess I shoulda figured that we gotta start with all black now.

Maybe your girlfriend is ****** off not because of turning 30, but because she's starting to wonder if you're one of them fashion designer-types.

Ouch!!! Damn, I should have known I would be hazed for this. I think its a cool all black mock up, even for another school. Oh and I did show my gf the picture and she didn't like it either if you must know lol.

No worries, it wasn't intended as harsh as it seemed. I just recognized the pics from earlier and saw an opening. Plus, I really thought the uni threads were done. It does annoy me, but I realize that's just my annoyance.

most useful thing I got out of this thread was that Taco Bell is open on Duff... now I wish I hadn't quit eating fast food.

Taco Bell...black uni's...taco bell black...finkle is einhorn.

Finkle wants some dinkle. Do it!

I would like trying black uniforms if it weren't for that other school down the road. Tough luck, brah.

I played around in Team Builder on NCAA and made a cool black/cardinal/gold jersey. Kept the cardinal pants and cardinal helmet. It looked cool, but in the process of making it I had to work extra hard to make sure there wasn't too much gold and that it never touched the black.

In the end it looked just like ASU's new unis so if you're curious go look at those.

I like our uniforms as they are and I like the addition of the all white aways. That's as radical as I want to go right now.

I like the look of the all blacks...just not for ISU. If we had any black in our school colors I'd be all for having them.

If the Cyclones ever came out of the locker room in any form of black jersey i would walk right out of the stadium. There is absolutely no exception for an Iowa State team to wear black uniforms. That color should stay in Iowa City. I never have and never plan on ever owning/wearing an Iowa State piece of clothing and i think the football uniforms should be the same way.

Way to support the team there, champ... :skeptical:

Anyway, it falls in line with my new line on ISU and uniforms - if the players were to like them and it grabbed the attention of recruits in a positive manner, then wear the hell out of them, I don't give a flying **** whether they're the ugliest uniforms in the NCAA and every single inconsequential ISU fan hates them, because in this case it's not about the fan thinks but about getting the best players in Ames as possible. And if you think that "ugly" uniforms cannot possibly be a positive recruiting tool, those abortions that Maryland wore against Miami were viewed favorably amongst recruiting circles. That is the ONLY way I would ever be in favor of an ISU team

"'All blacks' should stay in Iowa City. They don't belong at Iowa State." -cyclonefan_1

Ummm....

I understand the idea from the OP, but this is a mistake. We took navy blue out of our logo for a reason, it wasn't one of our key colors.

And neither is black.

Interesting look. If the players and coaches wanted to try it then go for it. If it adds to our appeal with new recruits then go for it.

No matter what you do in life, if you want to try something new and creative you will always have to fight the status quo protectors. Some people just can't handle change.
