I place the blame squarely on the shoulders of the coaching staff. They need to guide the players through this type of thing. They may not have the tools they need to win in the Big12 yet, but it is a direct reflection on the staff when the players you do have play worse than they have all year.

I agree. They have the tools to not commit personal fouls like that did against SDSU but they kept doing it against Kent State, Iowa, UNLV, and today. They have the tools to not get false start after false start penalty but they are on pace to have over 100 yards in penalties today. They have the tools to call a play and snap the ball without a delay of game, but they continue to go backwards with unforced errors in the red zone even halfway through the season. And cleaning up that stuff is 100% on the coaching staff.

I know I'm a broken record, but no emotion. They don't seem to care.
I agree with this. At the same time I realize that working with young adults (read: our athletes) they have very fragile psyches. Not meant to be an excuse, just an observation.

Looking back on all the optimism about this game, are we really any less myopic than Iowa fans?

What happened to them BTW, wow.
