ISU @ Baylor Official Game Thread

I've gotta say that GC is a proud guy and this loss has to sting deep in his chest. I think he's the kind of guy who will have this team FIRED UP for next week and work his tail off during the week to come up with a good game plan.

In 2005, we went on a tear after we lost to Baylor at home and almost went to the Big XII championship game for the second year in a row. That's not happening this year, but we need to have more wins this year than last.

I'm officially drinking the kool-aid...

I wonder if Gene is thinking to himself, "What the h-ll did I do taking this job?" The sad thing is that the schedule was very manageable this year.

well i think the Big XII might be able to replace it's doormat back to the cyclones.

nothing else to say about this... I miss Phillip bates

We will be ok I think, but this does suck. Let's not minimize the effect the Bates circus may have had on the team in keeping focused at the end of the week. We'll get a couple more wins this year and next year should be ok. If it isn't, then we should start to get upset.

Unfortunately just another excuse for poor play. Gene will say it is now another loss. That is all that matters. The only bright spot is the game is over.

We have now looked worse than A&M. Last week Pelini took all the blame. Will Gene do that this week?

You need to play schools that are Divsion IA football programs.that get you ready for Big XII competition....South Dakota State was just a Division II school a few years ago and is really not even as good as UNI.

If ISU ever becomes good enough to go .500 in the Big XII again, you need the two automatic wins like SDSU & Kent State to become bowl eligible. It would really suck to go 4-4 in the Big XII and miss a bowl because we did something stupid like play a nonconference game against a good team.

I hope we can win a couple more games this year - this is really hard watching MN and Baylor pass us by (at least at this point).

Even if it means losing? They had as many yards as we did, and the only reason the game wasn't close was because of the turnovers.

Getting to 6 wins is priority #1. ONCE YOU CAN DO THAT, THEN YOU INCREASE THE STRENGTH OF YOUR SCHEDULE. We are not yet to that point.

oh my god guys....I cannot even begin to express my displeasure right now. I left Jethro's early and am now sitting here typing with a tall glass of captain and coke. Might I mention that I NEVER leave a game early. Now that I'm listening to it on the radio, I've noticed that good ol' Mr. Walters is in a terrible mood too. Listen to his enthusiasm...or lack there of. Seriously, are we this bad? We came out flat from the get go. Absolutely no sign of life. We just got our **** stomped by a Baylor team that hasn't won a conference game in quite some time.

Lord, please don't let me drink myself into oblivion. Good night fellow Cyclone fans, there's always next week.

I'm with you, but I think it hurt us. Losing by 4 TDs to any team, let alone Baylor is inexcusable.

I'm hoping that Chizik can still attract the leonard johnson types of athletes(minus the personal fouls) in the next couple of classes. If he can do that, we will close the gap athletically. Its just whether he can get the kids to believe they can actually win...
