Doc Sadler is a cry-baby.
Colvin and Gilstrap are more highly regarded nationally than any of those guys you listed.
Yet he is outcoaching most every team nebraska plays. I'd take him at Iowa State any day over Mac. I don't know how you can recruit to that dump in Lincoln.
On a side note, I think it's a falsity that, hypothetically, if we fired McDermott, no one would want to come here. There are ALWAYS coaches looking to move up however they can, and many of the best coaches have the mindset they can do anything, or they wouldn't be where they are.
I am in your boat. I know McD can coach. I have been following him since Wayne State where a friend was a student manager for him. He has had success everywhere he has been. I don't understand why it is taking so long at ISU. I just think that next year is probably the make or break year at ISU. We have great basketball fans, heck many winning teams would love to have our attendance.
Maybe McD thought too highly of himself? Maybe he believed in his system, smart enough players could succeed even if they lacked Big12 athleticism? Who knows. All I know is next year his seat will be very warm. I hope he pulls us through, because I really think he could be a long term successful coach at ISU.
The thing I am most disappointed in is how ISU never seems to get up and beat a better team. Orr, Floyd, LE and even WM could all pull a rabbit out of a hat by having the team ready to play and fired up. We have yet to see that out of McD, and that troubles me more than anything.

McD wouldn't be on the hot seat if recruiting sites never existed. everyone thinks ooohh brackins is a 5 star he should be droppin 20 every night, or lucca is a dead eye shooter so everyone thinks he should never miss. when although brackins was a good recruit lucca was over hyped
Well yeah, I'm sure plenty of high school coaches would look at it as a step up... but tell me one name of anybody that could come in and have as much respect or hold themselves to as high of a standard and still have a chance at turning things around? Name me one guy that would legitimately be taking a step up, would have a chance to succeed where Mac apparently can't in your eyes and want to come in here.
Yay.. One will be a true freshmen and the other has 1... yes 1 year to play.. Great recruit there
