Yes a lot of alley oops, put backs but limited in post moves. He had some O as I recall.

Completely opposite players. Watson is a long athletic player with raw offensive skills, his role was always going to be centered around defensive versatility and sitting in the corner/dunker spot on offense. Nojus has a more polished offensive skill set, needs to improve on defense which honestly every freshman struggles with TJ's defense year 1. Nojus has the highest ceiling of any of the non-rotation players from this season.I just don’t get what people are so up in arms about Nojus. He’s going to be in the Watson lane next year. If he sticks around might be rotation in 26-27.
The freshman classes TJ has recruited have been some of the highest ranked classes in school history. The Milan, Omaha class was top 5. I don’t see how you can say he has struggled to recruit good freshman. You can certainly argue that they haven’t translated into a lot of success on the court, but outside of a few select blue bloods you are not seeing a lot of freshmen have success at the Power 5 level right awayI totally agree. I also think this is the first Freshman class that TJ has recruited that has multiple guys that will get playing time and are college ready. Seems like since he came back he has struggled to recruit good freshman recruits. Tyrese I guess but he was a Prohm recruit that TJ kept. Other than that I guess Lipsey is the stand out.
Heise started first at Houston - in the 9 games starting with that game he was really really good. Actually very similar to Curtis last year after his first start @TCU:Getting Heise to build off his March performance for the full 2025/26 season will REALLY help the team. If Tamin is managed better, Heise performs in-line with recent performances, plus another off-season of development for Jefferson and Milan.. That means we don't have to hit a homerun on a $2M guard to replace CuJo.
This is the post from Brent that I was referring to, FWIW. It was in the NIL Budgets thread from last week.
Agreed - Illinois played Kentucky in Round 2 and neither team had a single player on the court that played for them last year, I believe. UK obviously had a coaching change, but Illinois didn't.Iowa State has been positively stable in comparison to most other programs.
Yep, and it's not like those programs are just losing scrubs either. I think Dainja has played on a different team every year.Agreed - Illinois played Kentucky in Round 2 and neither team had a single player on the court that played for them last year, I believe. Thanks. Those "rules" will be challenged by athletes who want more. And as we all know the NCAA is powerless once someone brings litigation.
Offensively Nojus seems like he could be a Heise-type with greater upside if he can develop a bit more and get into a regular rhythm in the rotation. Off ball guard with a great catch and shoot 3, good slashing ability and hops, and hopefully (the upside) being able to create a bit more off the dribble like we saw Curt do this year. He seems like he has the twitch and athleticism to be a good defenderCompletely opposite players. There are a ton of players that are just free agents every single Year like Dainja. I get why they do it. I mean it makes sense moneywise. Probably ruining the college experience but for 1-2 million dollars I would do it also. I also don't understand why kids like Stirtz from Drake is leaving so much money on the table by going to Iowa. I know he likes the coach but geesh. Kansas State will pay him 2 milliion to go there.
Yeah, but then he would have to live in Kansas.

It's been posted multiple places that he's coming back along with Heise, Tamin, and Milan. No reason to speculate otherwise. Are we 100% sure Jefferson is not entering the Portal? He said he was coming back, after the game Sunday, but else is he going to say when a reporter asks him the question?
Couldn't agree more. However, my take from watching him was that the 'system' was more confusing to him than I would've thought. I hope the traditional 'leap' from freshman to sophomore works for him. Time will tell.Offensively Nojus seems like he could be a Heise-type with greater upside if he can develop a bit more and get into a regular rhythm in the rotation. Exactly what Jackson said to a reporter when asked the questionAre we 100% sure Jefferson is not entering the Portal? He said he was coming back, after the game Sunday, but else is he going to say when a reporter asks him the question?
No it isn't? Jackson told the reporter he was going to put his name out there and see what it was worth?Exactly what Jackson said to a reporter when asked the question
That’s his point. Jefferson didn’t say that. You’re reading his post wrong. No it isn't? Jackson told the reporter he was going to put his name out there and see what it was worth?
