I ******* love Rocco - Thread.

Just think how good he could be if he hit wide open receivers on the first few drives.

Purdy is still THE guy, but when Rocco hangs it up he might end up being even greater
If someone has some time on their hands would love to see some side by side numbers comparing Brock and Rocco. If Rocco leads this team to another 10+ win season...

I just did this quickly and it's possible I made some mistakes. Games as a starter only:

Rocco: 26 starts, 19 wins (73%), 262 passing yards/game, 2.3 total TDs/game
Brock: 47 starts, 30 wins (64%), 259 passing yards/game, 2.1 total TDs/game

Wins/losses in Brock's career are a good example how fickle a game football is. 2020 we win a lot of close games and it's an all-time great season. 2021 we lose a lot of close games and it's a major disappointment. A few 50/50 calls or plays go the other way in either year and they are very different years.

The love for Brock is warranted and Rocco is literally only half done with his career at Iowa State, but if Rocco leads this team to back to back 10+ wins seasons the conversation will be had. A long ways to go. Great start today!

Now that he is an NFL starter with an 9 figure contract , BP probably wouldn't be too upset about seeing a highlight reel of his Cyclone bonehead plays. He had some real doozies. Probably among the biggest QB fails I have ever seen at ISU. Yet he persevered to break every passing record at ISU; and Rocco might break most of these if he comes back next year.

That’s the silver lining, isn’t it?

“Oh no, Rocco! You still need to work on your game, better come back for ‘26!”

(Which would make for a monster season)

Rocco will throw a pick 6 at times. Shoulda had one today but the dude dropped it, and there are a number of dropped INTs from opponents last year too, but it feels like Purdy's boneheaded plays were a lot worse. Oh well, both are ISU legends. Rocco is on pace to break some of Purdy's records, but Purdy put up his numbers with a running back putting up big rushing numbers at the same time and Rocco doesn't have that.
