It is concerning, considering pumping up the O line the past 5 years has worked so well.

Agree. At least OP didn't title thread "Dekkers" in the classic CF manner.

Why not? After all, this is going to be the Tom Manning with X, Jaylin Noel, Dimitri Stanley and Greg Gaines year.No one is expecting that if they’ve been around during the Tom Manning without Hakeem Butler years.
Other than maybe Seneca... might Dekkers be the most - from a pure physical tool set - the most purely talented QB behind Seneca? Sage was great but I don't know if he was physically talented. Similar with Bret.Aidan Boumann is not as athletic or talented as Dekkers. Dekkers has more raw physical talent than Purdy. Lots of potential.
In the Iowa game in the 4th quarter he was instant offense.Last year Dekkers would have probably started if it hadn't been for a 4 year starter in Purdy.
He outshined Purdy all year.
There are plenty of gifted tools here on this forum.Other than maybe Seneca... might Dekkers be the most - from a pure physical tool set - the most purely talented QB behind Seneca? Sage was great but I don't know if he was physically talented. Similar with Bret.
That damn FOX and ESPN. always trying to make the BIG12 look bad so they can control the playoffs. My concern is that he will be too good and will be forced to sit by the NCAA to make the games more fair.
I imagine I'll catch flack for this post but wanted to ask anyways. I'm a bit nonplussed by CMC et al. comments on Dekkers. Anyone infer concern about Dekkers putting it all together? I haven't felt a lot of enthusiasm between Blum and Williams, or CMC, which I guess I wanted to see between the lines of coach speak. I feel like I'm used to hearing more buzz and excited optimism around a rising starting QB, especially with his potential. Obviously it's to be expected at this time of year- you have to see it on the field, so we are holding our collective breath. He has all the tools but how quickly can he reach his potential? yada yada.
Anyone else?
I would imagine at a position like QB, people in the program want to temper expectations for Dekkers He plays the one position where he has a chance to look really good and really bad on every single play. People were pretty tough on our last QB that won a pile of games for us. I'm sure they don't want to give fans a reason to get overly critical on Dekkers if he doesn't throw for 400 yards and 4 TD's in his first start.
I mean, seriously, Dekkers hasn't completed a pass this year. It's already August.
It's worth some concern.
I am on team Blake Clark. Let's show those Hawk fans who got the more talented Clark family member! They'll want the Cook kid probably
