Why would it matter? We were gassed and played with fire and it payed off. Gilstrap played with a bum leg for a few minutes and played his best part of the game. It is what it is.

Didn't hurt. I thought we looked more intense, and that helped to foul McNeil out. But there's no way that it didn't help to have them gone.
Lots and positives and negatives from this game.
-We still need to body up on someone on the boards. I know they have been stressing this in practice, but it hasn't shown up in games.
-Shot selection got waaay better in the last part of regulation and the overtimes. We need to see this continue and sustain it for entire games.
-We hit some clutch free throws, which was nice to see, but we need more consistency here, too.
-Loved the mental toughness down the stretch.

The NCAA tourney committee will look for those brownie points in March. So does the RPI.

The 1-4 Flat offense is a terrible offensive set.
Unless you got a Chris Paul running your offense, at best you end up with a point guard 1-on-1 with a Center. Basically when a coach runs the 1-4 he's saying we give up; don't have anything imaginative in our arsenal and basically running a desperation play in hopes to get to the foul line.

Yeah, especially those fans that tried to make the game before work or other obligations but had to leave because it went longer. :skeptical:
We were getting killed by them outrebounding us, and those out means the top 2 rebounders were out.
no doubt. the effort was turned up, id just say we might want to temper it a bit.

If we'd been back from Chicago sooner, we would've been there. But for some reason, nobody wanted to leave town at 6 or 7 :sad:
True but they also fouled out because they got over intense. This tends to go hand in hand. Were alot of them open rebounds or agressive rips?
Why do you assign this to a lack of level-headedness midway through a close game- some have been calling for a change since the calm of summer.
Free throws weren't the issue today.

I'm sorry, there is absolutely NO way there were a few hundred Cyclone fans who had to leave today. Not to mention the fact that when you leave after the game the amount of time it takes to get out of the parking lot is unpredictable. Nice try though. Pathetic by 99% of those fans, with the other 1% probably having a good reason.
This is a moral victory where we ended up winning IMO. Hopefully because the Duke game is so close, they will carry a little confidence they earned at the end of this game into that game.
I still think we can beat Duke. Or maybe it's because I paid some $$$ for good seats

Sorry, can't blame people for leaving at all - considering the home team's effort for almost the entire game was ******* pathetic.
