I'm just wondering what everyone thoughts on how Hoiberg coached in his first loss tonight..?

A few of my observations were:

1. Obviously UNI controlled the tempo of the game, which is what most people thought would be the key. Does this fall all on the players? i.e. Poor rebounding, not hitting open shots, lack of depth, etc.

2. The team really responded after CFH called the timeout when I think UNI went up 6 or 8 around the middle of the second half, and we came back out and got it close again.

3. Could Fred have done something more to get Jake the ball in the in the last minute? Or done something to get JVB more involved in the game besides the pick and pop. (I'm not sure what UNI was doing but that wasn't there at all tonight)

All in all, it's a game I wish we really would've had, but hopefully the team gets focused and we pack Hilton on Saturday for a W.

Agreed. Hopefully just a little reality check for the guys and they come out hungry.

is it just me or did JVB not seem into it.. to me he kinda seemed tired course when you play 90% of the time you would be

well i think he is sticking to his guns and still telling DG to shot with confidence when he should have told him to pass the mother ******..IMO

UNI, and the officials, dictated the speed of this game from the start. So yes, Fred was outcoached tonight for sure.

Fred really needs to get on DG when he notices that he's not hitting his shots. Fred has basically said that this is DG's Team, but that doesn't mean he should let him just do stupid things all night.

And I'd like to see a bit more enthusiasm out of Fred. Those refs deserved and earful several times tonight. Stand up and fight for your guys every now and then Fred.

Tonight was probably a good learning experience about what the sideline is like on the road. He was OK.

There's always a couple of things we'd want to see different after a loss. That's one of them, but Fred's a sharp guy. He'll adapt.

Foul trouble and shooting the ball like crap lost this game. CFH did everything he needed to do. UNI may have dictated the tempo more than we would have liked but your players have got to hit shots when they get good looks...we had good looks all night that didn't fall. Sucks.

I would have liked to see a little more fire but that said...

worried bout his pacemaker (seriously! i want to se CFH around a while)
and GMac never let the boys play and the were to busy running his ridiculous play set.
Guide the kids, build there trust and confidents, and LET THEM PLAY. they will learn.

I really think when we have more depth, Freddy will take the opportunity to slap on a full court press once in a while in games like this, to change the tempo.

That wouldn't work with this team, because there's no big guy to go at the back of the press, and we don't have the bodies.

I'll be surprised if we ever see that much...we didn't hire a yeller and screamer.
I was thinking a good CyBookie event would be on how many games before CFH gets T'd up

I liked that he did this, confidence will only make DG that much better. Plus, in recent years (particularly under McD) we would have tried to adjust to their game. Fred will learn he is still young.

A typical road game for a team who is at best average. Have we seen any thing different the past 6 years? Until our talent level increases this is what we will be getting on the road, and I believe it will get better, but tonight and probably this year this is what we can expect...............now team go prove me wrong, please.
