Go ahead and think that way, but Alabama would have gone for the extra point and trust his guys in overtime. It’s not that it’s the Ferentz mentality: ISU had the confidence and was playing much better than Oklahoma and the OU secondary was depleted. I think ISU would’ve won in OT over a beat up Oklahoma squad.

Newsflash: we aren't Alabama.

why? Kolar was wide open. Purdy just missed him but still almost made it work with Pettway.
I don't know that Kolar was ever an option for Purdy. Read #1 was Hall who they were hoping would be able to slip out and get the safety lost in traffic. The next closest read was Pettway. In Purdy's mind I'm guessing he didn't think he'd have time for a third.

Personally would have preferred to see the pocket move to give Purdy a run/pass option but have no issue with the call.

That was poor play design having Hall drag his defender right into the throwing lane. If Hall isn't there it's an easy toss and catch.

OU didn't score in the 4th quarter.

And are you calling for going for OT, but then saying ISU couldn't stop OU in the redzone?
OU was 100% in the redzone. The defense changes a lot with less field behind you and we couldn’t adapt to that tonight, let alone if the bad 25 yards behind us. I love Matt’s call for going for two.

Oh I do as well. I thing it was a great call by Matt to go for it there. Brock should’ve hit his tight end. We’lol beat Texas next week.

I misread your last post, but our defense is not the reason we went for it. They were lights out in the second half.

Alabama should. They have more talent than nearly everyone they play. We don't. Talent tends to win in the long run. OU has the talent advantage. Take your shot.

Could be. I think Matt trusted the offense more than the defense with 25 yards behind them though, which we struggled at tonight.

Cool but OU didn't get to the red zone in the 4th quarter so the defense wasn't terrible all night.

They sort of were the reason ISU was in a position to win the game.

i kind of get going for the win but also think we had momentum going into a possible OT and I like extending the game with the OU offense and defense both reeling and the stadium 3/4 empty. I would have kicked the PAT. Go Cyclones!
