I remember that game. I think Troy went for near 300, and I think we had 2 other backs go for over 100 yards. Great rushing day for the Clones.
Good to see UNLV fans show up. Welcome. I hope UNLV continues to build up its athletics programs, and I hope we keep this series going, and add home and aways in basketball.

I have always enjoyed rooting against UNLV in basketball!!! I think this series would be a great idea!
Thanks to the Rebels for their posts! It's been nice to have fans from the other teams show up on CF and offer their thoughts, their opinions, and even their help with everything from tailgating to tailbacks. Sure, we trade a few barbs, but (and maybe I'm wrong here) it seems like this has been happening a lot more frequently this season. From Jackrabbit fans, to Kent State fans, and now with the UNLV crowd (yes I am intentionally ignoring EIU fans (except for SouthernHawk and a few others)) it has been really fun to talk to the fans of our opponents. I hope that this is a trend that continues!!!
302 for Troy that day, 586 total as a team, to be exact. I believe Troy's quote after that game was something to the effect of, "it was like a track meet out there."

I remember that game...I think Troy sat out the entire 4th quarter, but not sure.
That sounds right to me too. Might have gone for 400+ had he played the whole game.
In the Mizzou game where he went off for 378, he had something like 174 yards on 16 carries in the 4th quarter alone. :wideeyed:
What's amazing is his replacement rushed for 128 and 2 TDs Also.

Davis scored on runs of 20, 8, 66, 80 and 5 yards as Iowa State bolted to a 34-0 lead. Davis left the game with 5:19 left in the third quarter. Backup tailback Graston Norris rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns after Davis' departure, including a 91-yard scoring scamper that was the second-longest run in school history.

The UNLV basketball team has made a 3 point goal in every game since the 3 point line was introduced. Quite the streak; many fans find the streak annoying. I would rather lose the game than the streak; other disagree. I make it a point to defend the streak.
If you get to there 4 hours before kickoff the parking lot temperature is 258 degrees.
Actually, a bunch of us at the office were kind of hoping maybe you could shed some light on the subject. See, we've had that envelope in our possesion for the past 70 years. It was given to us with the explicit instructions that it be delivered to young man with your description answering to the name of Marty at this exact location, at this exact minute, November 12th, 1955. We had a little bet going to whether this Marty would actually be here. Looks like I lost.
