Gottlieb's ISU comments

I'm a fan of Doug. Wouldn't be an analyst without having some strong opinions. He's been wrong before, and he'll be wrong again. They all will be.

Get 4th in the conference, and we'll have a good shot. Get 5th? We'll be outside looking in based on our non-conf.

Finally, when your on the bubble, getting in or being left out has as much to do with what happens in the low and mid-major conference tourneys. If someone besides Murray State wins the Ohio Valley, that takes a bid away from a high major team. If that scenario happens a couple times - maybe Pitt wins the Big East... more .500 in-conf teams get left out.
 
I think that 11-7 will get ISU in easily if one of the wins is KU/Mizzou/Baylor. IMO 10-8 will only get them in if they win a game or two in KC.
 
Gottlieb is a very good analyst. Probably my second favorite behind Bilas. He is not a hater of ISU. He says complimentary things about ISU all the time. Quit ********.
 
playing devil's advocate,

the other way to look at our record is that we are currently 0-3 vs. likely tournament teams. The selection committee isn't going to give us credit for playing Mizzou and KU close. When you think of it that way, anyone projecting us IN the tourney now is doing so based on wins we might get, rather than wins we have.

I was joking haha at first I thought you were saying I asked him then I looked at your username and figured it out. You quoted me and quotes of quotes don't show up which is why your twitter name didn't show up in what you were quoting.

That makes it sound even more complicated.

Haha, yeah, but you pieced it together. I had to ask Doug what he thought of the ISU/Texas game after he posted something about the spread being higher than he thought it would be.

The problem with getting older and not living in Iowa..... I didn't know any of that. But it gives a little more insight than I had, so Thank You.

I think you don't listen to him very much. He is the most knowledgeable about all things B12 that ESPN has. He has also, numerous times, stood up for us. The guy doesn't just hammer us all the time. He was wrong so far on one point and there's nothing saying he won't end up being right on the rest.
 
Gottlieb was openly rooting for Oklahoma State on twitter the other night, and then experienced severe vaginal cramping when they lost on Christopherson's buzzer beater.

Mediocre player, mediocre TV dude.
 
The only thing I see that is a problem is that we'll lose to the big 12 bottom feeders on the road. Everything else is a perfectly valid opinion.

Yea, agreed. We are 1-5 against the top 100 of the RPI, that does not look like a tournament team resume at this point.

Couldn't agree more Yes13. Hawk fan first but also pull for Clones. Many hawk fans are the same way, but Clone fans seem to take being thin skinned to a different level.

Get an idiot to ask to meet you so he can fight you, and THEN maybe you will have some cred...

Speaking of complete and total idiots, I am glad to see that waverly did not get banned. That guy is pure comedy gold.
