Gameday Thread--ISU vs. Texas

Great coaching by Greg pulling Craig with 2:30 remaining. No sense getting him his 3rd foul. He can now still be aggressive in the second half.

I agree, Brackins needs to step up for the 2nd half, to account for AJ's impeccable resurgence. I'm surprised to see us so close at the half... I hope they keep it up.

This is not a slam on Craig, but he is not ready for the NBA. Not even close.

I'm just throwing that out there because Jon Miller likes to tease us about Craig leaving after this year.

1st 5 minutes out the half time will decide this game.....

That's a good point. In my opinion, the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half are always the most important stretch of any game. I guarantee that Texas will dial up their already tough defense to an even higher level with the hope of putting us away early in the 2nd half. We just have to match their intensity and hang with them.

Tell me Greg isn't moving this program in the right direction. A bunch of Sophs and Freshman playing well on the road against a top ten team. Can't wait for this thing to get balanced out with some experienced upper classmen.

Anyone else wish we would have called time out after we got the rebound at the end of the half? I think we could have run a play but I'm not sure.

Cue someone saying we are not young.

The commentators mentioned it, but there's a faction here that says we aren't young. We are young.

Our other guys will have to beat Texas. They're very obviously keying on Craig. Lucca and the gang have to heat up.

I am waiting for Craig to show up against Big 12 competition. I know it will happen - just hasn't yet.

I hope it happens during the second half. If it does, then we may win this thing.

I see them coming out of the half in a full court press, big time. We need to break it a couple of times, preferably with a huge dunk at the other end, to get them out of that. Take the crowd out of it, too.

Attack the basket, don't settle for the 3. It's working, stick with it!

I would agree. Brackins has the tools, but he's still got a lot to learn. I like the progress he's made this early in the season, though. I realizes that some teams are going to commit to holding him down, so he can help his team win without being the leading scorer.

We need to get the ball to the post. Our options open up exponentially when we do that...Brackins to Hamilton, Hamilton to Brackins...either of those kick out to the shooters.

Also, it looks like Garrett is playing to the level of the competition. He looked like he was sleep walking against Houston-Baptist, but he's a lot more focused today. I just hope he's got another gear!

Garret just does not need to turnover the ball!!! Other than that garrert can run the offense
