Friday OT Thread: Well, I never...

do they act uncomfortable or seem like they "look down" on those of you who do drink? Because that would really make it awkward and not fun then. It's totally cool to have a mixture of people at an event, some drinking, some not, but when one group is making the other group feel "wrong" for their choice, that kills the fun real fast.

Some of them definitely do. But they're hated by all the interns lol.

My manager pulled me today though and said (paraphrased) "I heard you like to have a good time. Some of the other interns were talking about it to their managers and complained. But all the managers and I agree that we need more people like you. We want to make (Company Name) more fun!"

So that was good I guess.

that right there is straight up weird. Unless you are reflecting poorly on the company (in which case it still isn't their business or responsibility), they are being tattletales and the managers will note that. I mean, unless you are trying to force a beer bong down their throats, that is weird.

I've never gotten a speeding ticket in my 28 years.

I've only ever been pulled over twice.

No drinking alcohol. I do the college tricks stuff but to be honest the interns that I work with are kind of lame. The company is big, cool, and advanced but none of them seem to drink at all. And they scoff at the idea of drinking illegally on the beach. They literally did a board game night. Which is whatever, I went but I was one of 3 that were drinking.

It seems like they got a whole bunch of people that follow the mantra of "I don't need alcohol to have a good time". It doesn't help the fact that the lowest GPA that I've heard from someone is a 3.8... (meaning they generally don't go and do things outside of schoolwork IMO). Mine is much much lower than that

Last night for example. The company bought out a whole section at a minor league baseball game. It was $1 beer night. Most people were buying 1 at a time and only had 2 or 3 if that. I was buying 4 at a time.

Good company. Bad interns.

Why do you need to drink to have fun?

I've never done a drug, nor have I even been curious. I never really understood the whole "peer pressure" thing.

I've never done a drug either(ironic because of my user name). I don't understand peer pressure either, but then again, I've never had a problem telling a friend to **** off if they try to force me into something either

Then you're doing it wrong...

Every trip to the beach I've had ends with something bad happening. First time when I was 13/14 I was crapped on by a bird. Second time I guess I said a wrong thing to a girl because she slapped me and threw sand in my eyes. Third time I was crapped on by a bird again. The only good part about becoming a birds ******** post? Using the towel of whoever laughs the hardest to clean it up.

I was very tempted to try pot when I was in Amsterdam 2 years ago. Mainly because I am intriqued by how many people have done it. I literally don't know how I could get any. And I've never known how I could get any.

But when I actually got to Amersterdam, I realized that the whole Red Light district made me uncomfortable. It was just kind of gross and sad. Once I realized that there was a lot more to Amsterdam, I really enjoyed the city.

But I still kind of regret not trying pot over there.

I thought I read somewhere it's actually good luck to have a bird crap on you. I'll have to look that up.

Yep. There it is.

I've never done drugs and never really wanted to. But after I retired (gov't job) I kind of wish I could try pot once just for the actual experience.

I told a lady I worked with that and she told of her experience about 15 years ago where she got her son's friend to give her some just to experience it. She said she felt awful (sick to her stomach, head ache) and so paranoid she locked herself in her bedroom for the rest of the night.

After that I'm less inclined to want to try it if I should end up in CO someday, but still intellectually curious just as a life experience.

Once. When I was 27. Just me & my sis at her place. She said "let's smoke a little & watch old movies. It's hilarious!" So I did. What neither of us took into account was the fact that, as a smoker, I was able to draw it deep & hold it. And it didn't hit right away. When it did, it was like a piano dropped on my head. Crazy cottonmouth...heart rate of about 180 bpm...I was pacing on her deck, smoking, saying "I can't sit down...if I sit down I'll pass out". She finally convinced me that if I went to bed & passed out, I'd be fine.

I have no problem with other people smoking - I don't consider it to be any worse than alcohol. And I've seen it help friends of mine tolerate chemo better. But for me, once was plenty!

I haven't done it since high school, but it effects different people different ways. Just like alcohol. You have friendly drunks, flirty drunks, mean drunks, etc. no different with pot.

1. If she was getting pot from her son's friend, maybe she should have locked herself in a bedroom a long time ago. Like she wasn't nuts before she tried pot.
2. Try an indica heavy blend first. It's the couch meld version, and not as likely to induce paranoia.
