"Love is all around" by Wet, Wet, Wet, is far better than the original.
"Lovesong" by Adele is way better than the Cure's version.
"Turn the Page" by Metallica is a great version of the Bob Segar hit.

Those dumbshits hating it pretty much solidifies that’s it’s awesome.

Seriously every take one of them have I usually totally disagree with especially Heather. A new thing on the show has been Heather bashing the person doing the weather updates and claiming she could do a much better job.

Not sure I'd say better, but I like this scaled-back piano version of Linkin Park's "What I've Done".

Nirvana > Meat Puppets. If you've ever heard the Meat Puppets they're pretty awful actually, but thankful they created the songs because when Nirvana covered them, amazing.

Going with 2 country songs here. "Callin Baton Rouge" was originally recorded by The Oak Ridge Boys in 1978 then it became a huge hit for Garth Brooks in 1993

Then to flip this around The Oak Ridge Boys were not the first one to record their big hit "Elvira" The song writer Dallas Frazier released it in 1966 and it only hit 72 on the billboard 100. Kenny Rogers recorded it in 1970 then Rodney Crowell released it in 1978 and it only peaked at 95. Finally the version most know by the ORB became a #1 hit in 1981.

Apparently there are a lot of cover versions of Elvira out there but some are just performances and not actual album recordings: https://secondhandsongs.com/performance/177867/versions They are missing 1 on that list as William Lee Golden and his sons just recently put out an album covering a bunch of classic hits including Elvira and The Eagles "Take it Easy" to name a couple.

I have to watch this at least once a year just for Prince.
Was listening to this while doing something else damn you know right when Prince kicks in and I'm not even a great music person. Dang it wish he wouldn't have OD.

Not saying this is better than the original but I really like it. Totally different style of music so it's comparing apples to oranges.
