I can recall 4 games during Campbell's tenure that we were never in and looked ugly. There are some other disappointments, but These ones left a bad taste in your mouth:

2016 @ Iowa
2019 Camping World Bowl vs Notre Dame
2022 @ TCU
2023 @ Oklahoma

2018 @ Iowa should probably make the list, too.

Regardless, 4 or 5 games over 8 years is pretty damn good given our history. We should be working to build the program up, and I believe we are headed in the right direction, but it doesn't happen overnight, and their are going to be setbacks. With the new Big XII I think we have a perfect opportunity ahead of us and Campbell is a great coach to be leading the team right now. Really I think we're in a good spot with leadership in the athletic department as a whole.
Agree for the most part, but even the OU game this year, we basically played with them for a half. Some freak things happened to make that game appear worse on paper than it truly was IMO:

-Blocked punt for a safety
-Interception thrown by us to them giving them a short field with too much time left before half time
-Fluky bomb touchdown pass on a 4th and 7 in the 3rd quarter where the receiver had to break at least 3 tackles before getting into the endzone, for the final nail in the coffin.

I know the margin of defeat was great, but I didn't come away from the game feeling as lousy as I did 2-weeks prior in Athens, OH.

Also, I think there was a game late in the season in year 1 of Campbell where we got absolutely **** canned. Had been showing marked signs of improvement all year until the final game against I want to say West Virginia, and I think by that point the boys had just had enough. Really similar to last years TCU game as I recall.

This season to me has a big McCarney era feel to it. Kind of hovering near .500 and think that they might actually be decent, but have lost some head scratchers and will probably lose a couple more head scratchers I would imagine. Got steamrolled by OU and might get **** canned by Texas, but be competitive in general otherwise. Defense is salty at times, but also very bendy at times. Skill positions feel like they aren't the weakest in the conference, but also seems to be a noticeable gap from the top 3 or 4 in the conference. Very McCarney-esque.

Seems I've struck a nerve with my post.

Yes, the athletic department does follow up with season ticket holders in club seating. Especially when they've had season tickets for a long period of time. His concern was that I hadn't inadvertently missed a deadline. Just a professional courtesy. He acknowledged my concern.

No, I don't expect JP to fire CMC over me dropping my season tickets.

Yes, they still have my contact information.

Get some self respect if you can't see how CMC is being disrespectful to you and the University.

Have a nice day.
Why don't you educate me on this statement.

Wasn't Dark star the video arcade about a block east of Welch?
On Chamberlain kinda behind the post office. In the Eighties someone built an extra three stories of apartments on top, and I think the ground floor has been everything from WC Frank to various ethnic restaurants.

I had an apartment in the building during the last VEISHEA. Went to bed around midnight with everyone sitting around Welch chilling. Went downstairs the next morning, first thing I noticed was the dumpster on it’s side and charred….

Fair points. I suppose I'm including OU this year because of that last bit of the 1st half. If it could have gone wrong, it did go wrong and it as painful. I didn't get to watch the Ohio game, because sometimes the good lord is merciful.

I remember that WV game in 2016 as well. 89-19, but i was feeling good about the season and trajectory as a whole, so i shrugged it off. The fact that it was right after that TT beatdown didn't hurt either. Fun fact: my dad and I were walking around the bowled in endzone (I hadn't done it at that time, yet) at halftime and this gal from WV comes over and starts talking to us. Just making conversation and being friendly, but also drunk as a skunk. After chatting for a bit about the game, atmosphere, etc she abruptly changes topics and asks if we know where to find any weed.

Asking someone like me makes sense, but my dad is a fairly straight-laced looking guy, pushing 60 at that time. Doesn't give off any hippy vibes, and he looks shocked and just tells her, "No we don't know where to get that crap!" She looks dejected, goes "Yeah? Good I hate them pot smokers!" and walks off.

I'm just laughing at the absurdity of the whole situation. Too bad dad scared her off...I could have gotten her some weed, made a new friend, and who knows where things would have gone...

Wait, no ones ever gotten laid because they've gotten a chick stoned, and anyone who thinks it will work is a fool. Still, funny story.

No, they're not to be suffered. I spoke correctly.
I wasn't referring to you, of course. Just speaking in general & making little sense as usual. But I know what you mean, @BWRhasnoAC , edit.

Personally I don't mind differing viewpoints and discussions. It makes you think and gives another person's viewpoint. I guess the insufferable/sufferable part comes into play when people say the same thing repeatedly. But then I've done that too. Or when they say things in a mean way.

I didn't want him gone but I was definitely starting to wonder if he was going to be too stubborn and slowly keep losing. Campbell and staff have squashed that concern. I just want to keep seeing improvement and obviously a bowl game
