That's cool. My brother has Direct, he was thinking about trying out Hotpass.
Now if I can just talk him into that and stepping up to HD :yes4lo:
My dad does that now and it seems to make things go by way quicker...it's a good idea...
with the Hotpass, I sat and watched the race for 1 1/2 hours straight. It shows the commercial yet shows the driver you're watching as well. I saw 2 cautions and a restart that Fox missed due to commercials.
Not a NASCAR fan here at all, yet I tuned in for most of the race today. It's Daytona. I don't like baseball yet I watch a few playoff games. I always enjoy watching the bigger events of the sports I'm not fans of.
And it was an exciting race today. Especially those final 50 or so laps. Amazing job by Stewart to go from the back of the field to the lead - then only to get loose, bumped and wreck.
Crazy finish too...a car crosses the finish line sliding, on its top, while on fire. Car flips back over and driver gets out unharmed.
To me, that's exciting television.
If ya don't care for the sport, like myself - ignore the threads. It's that simple. "Vomiting" all over it is just...well...childish.

Is that household gross or personal gross? If it is personal, there are more middle class nascar fans than I thought. I would think the only sports higher than that are golf and hockey.
The crowd argument has always been funny to me. Nascar fans will say there are more people attending a nascar race than a particular football game. That is not a valid argument since there are 15+ football games every sunday vs 1 race.
I can say 1 positive thing about nascar, the HD feed FOX had was pretty nice. They do a real good job of HD broadcasts. Plus I would watch more if I can see cars sliding upside down on fire.
I still can believe that Bowyer (Jack Daniels car) crossed the finish line upside down. If they would have raised the yellow when the reck happened Martin would have won and Bowyer would have finish 6th or 7th instead of 18th when he slid across the finish line.
Plus it is fun to go and see a race live I have been to the one in KC twice and it is fun to go to and not that many rednecks.

To say NASCAR isn't a sport or the drivers aren't athletes is silly. You may not like it, it's obvious it's a sport (see the definition of sport).
How many fat NASCAR drivers do you see? So if golfers are athletes, then the drivers definitely are too. (This coming from a golf fan as well) Also, you try to go 3.5 hours in a car without going to the bathroom! :wink0st:

I would say its not your idea of a typical sport, but its definitely some kind of sport....I'm sure its strenuous driving at those speeds for a long amount of time with it being VERY hot in the car.....but as far as fat drivers...haha Tony Stewart doesn't look much like an athlete....more of a scrub
Holding ones bladder does not make you an athlete. Golfers are not athletes, nascar drivers are not athletes, bowlers are not athletes, curlers are not athletes. They are all in the same class, they are skilled workers, not athletes. And all those activities above are games, not sports.
