It's a moot point since there aren't any Iowa athletes in the NBA.
The design of those plays are having the RB downhill at the snap. They ran it a lot last year.
It's basically an off tackle tackle run but the pitch must be used to get the ball to the back quicker.

Saw this in an article from Iowa Hawkeyes on SI. I can't figure out what he is talking about. They had a deep pass? And we committed Pass Interference to stop the catch? That isn't anything I remember. But if so, then yeah, that was a good play by our guy. Better to get 15 yards than give up a 75 yard TD.

Kid must have already spent some time listening to Dolph.
In Haydenism, every play would have been a TD if the opponent's LB or DL or anyone else wouldn't have made the tackle at the LOS.
The pass wasn’t that close. 34 got turned around and pretty much just blew up the receiver.
It's more important for so many Hawk fans that ISU be bad than it is for Iowa to be good. Don't ever remember hearing that from another fan base, but you get it after we beat them all the time.
At TOE, any pass over 10 yards is a ‘deep one’. Goodwin did I get called for PI, but the kid is making a huge assumption that his hok receiver would catch anything.

They’re saying that we have better depth than they do.We had a starting OLineman, kick returner, LB (starter?), and Kickoff specialist out off the top of my head. At least two of these impacted the game in very obvious ways. What's their point.
You’re conflating the situation.
“Totally incapable of recruiting (let alone developing) a decent HS QB” is not the same thing as planning to NIL a college QB.
It’s a desperation move.
Good HS QB’s take a good look, then decide to run away.
Agree, they don't use criteria, they use excuses and justifications to work whatever they want to happen.

I think Iowa's problem is that Kirk eventually got stuck on "this is what we do, it worked in the past, there's no reason to change it". Campbell has shown that he is willing to constantly analyze what they're doing and adjust what isn't working.
I was looking for it, but this thread is pretty big.
