This has probably been answered, but there is too much to keep up on. The last Iowa drive... Was the coverage that good or was Gronowski too gun shy?

He took his eyes off receivers and looked at rushers- when you do that you’re cooked.

What I saw, any openings were pretty tight but I think the last series was on Gronowski - at least for not making it interesting. He doesn't move through progressions very well and lord knows he had plenty of time to work through them a few times.

Totally understand where you're coming from. However I'm a diehard Cyclone Fan who is a UNI Alum. My wife is a diehard Cyclone Fan & she's an Iowa Alum. There are some of us out there believe it or not.

Agreed. Cyclone fan from birth; Drake alum due to practicality. (Though I root for Drake head to head, largely due to how much pantherhawks annoy me.)

To be honest outside of 1 drive, a couple bad mistakes are what kept this game close. The muffed punt and the penalties giving them fresh downs, really is the only reason this game was not a 2+ score win.

But that is how this game goes. This year we are good enough to handle those types of mistakes. In years past there were more mistakes that we could not come back from.

We should have won this game by 3 scores.

Well Sound Off is a mere shadow of itself anymore. They hardly take any calls and it’s mostly just the hosts talking. Which is pretty much some former Hok player talking about how great of an athlete he was.

Lack of receiver contributions are a big issue and they need to start catching the ball for ISU to produce.
IDK what the hell Heacock was doing at the end of the half when Iowa scored.
Mouser didn’t boot or have any misdirection today to help Rocco.
Played like Iowa for most of today and it’s brutal to watch. We have a good quarterback and no receivers to get open or catch the ball.
Campbell has a big set of rocks for that fg- if missed Iowa can run the ball a few times and try a gw field goal.
Phew. I need a Tylenol.

I don’t think they respected Iowa enough to use all the playbook. Particularly when ahead most of the game


I’m not sure that’s the best plan, but a W is a W. And it would have been more comfortable if not for some horrendous officiating. Should have been 20-6 type win

Looked like a mixture of both...ISU was giving some looks that kept him uncomfortable.

I'd say the coverage was good all game, but even when they got guys open Gronowski didn't seem to find them fast enough. On the last drive they didn't have to worry about the run, so pressure was solid.
