Cyhawk postgame thread

540 am KWMT gets pretty good coverage as long as it is a day game. They power down at sunset
It's kinda sad that given where we both live we are both dependent on the Fort Dodge radio signal.

Im not one to questions coaches but why did we go away from Hansen in Q2 and Q3 for Sama.

Hansen is our back. Feed him.
Your bias for Hansen or against Sama is showing. There’s not a huge difference in production and Sama is as good this year at getting at least some positive yardage when nothing is there, which was the biggest gap last year.

Seems like the same thing we have been doing in other games. I think it is jus the game plan. For the most part. Hansen starts and finishes, (1st and 4th qtrs). Sama gets 2nd quarter and starts the 2nd half, so gets 2nd and 3rd.

We probably do this to not only feel them both out, but to keep them both healthy and happy, both stay more fresh, and both get significant playing time. I dont think it will be the exact plan every week but definitely seems like that is their plan for the game.

You are right I am biased. Hansen hits the hole, Sama dances to much behind the line. I will give Sama credit though because he did have a couple nice runs where he planted and hit the hole today. But historically Hansen is way above Sama.

As long as he is producing positive yards keep feeding him
And then he gets worn out, hurt, etc. Also then anyone else leaves because they arent getting the playing time.

The days of 1 RB getting all the snaps is pretty much over. You have to give them a break to keep them healthy or you will end up 1 less RB one way or another.

Why care about “historically” when we’re talking about this season? I think Hansen is the 1 but like keeping him fresh as a closer because I don’t think it’s a big gap between him and Sama. As long as they bring Hansen in for every short yardage situation, regardless of quarter.

Eskildsen and overby are both elite at getting open (Rocco throws an immaculate ball as well). But they are just 2% not as good as Higgins and Noel when it comes to contested catches and reliability of hands. Such little things but make a huge difference in a game and is the difference between solid P4 receiver and NFL guy. If those 2 can improve on the hands (esp. Overby) I don’t see why they couldn’t make the league.
