Cy-Hawk fear...

Iowa fans whining about playing more conference games is comical. Its the same guys who brag up how their record is better than ISU each year while we play 9 conf games in a true round robin.

I think most of the discussion here and on other boards from Iowa and other Big 10 fans is not whining. I think most of them want 10 conference games. Frankly, I like the 9 games as well. I'd much rather play a conference game than Toledo in mid October.

Careful. A lot of people on here don't like the unbiased sensible approach.

Luckily for Iowa over the next 6 seasons they only have to play those 3 bolded teams a total of 4 times and in 3 os those seasons they play none of them... and the earliest they will play at Ohio State is 2020.

I am positive that these idiots will still come rolling in here to puff their chests out that they took down mighty Rutgers and Maryland.

Beating Rutgers wouldn't be impressive?

So you are an ISU graduate but choose to support your Alma mater's arch rival? How do you even look your fellow classmates in the eye? You are truly among the bottom rung of Hawkeye fans. Well below the tavern hawks, t-shirt hawks, etc.

You don't think this is something new do you? It's been happening for years.

Marty you are 100000% correct! I've heard nothing but excuses from Hawkeye fans on why playing us doesn't make sense to them. Just play ball and stop whining!

the hoks are our only real rivalry and, yet, some want to drop the game,...................makes no sense to me.

The fact that over the past 16 years that ISU is 9-7 vs. Iowa even though Iowa has a better overall record is Proof that Iowa plays in an inferior conference. It is not proof that Iowa has had a better football program.

Jon Miller is so cute with his 'it's a no win situation when Iowa plays Iowa State in football' line of thinking.

Jon vastly overestimates the national brand that is Iowa football. No one cares about Iowa football outside of Iowa fans. No one. No one in Michigan or Ohio or Florida or Alabama wakes up on a Saturday in September and thinks "Holy ****, I can't wait to watch the Hawks play".

just curious, what are your thoughts on ISU's bball national perception?

I don't think that random basketball fans have a vested interest in Iowa State basketball.

And I don't think many Iowa fans believe other fanbases have a vested interest in Iowa football. Overall though, the program is pretty well nationally respected (most years). Not unlike ISU bball.
